Well there are some points to be made. And yes I have tested a lot on the PTS.

1. There could be 2-3 tests before it goes live.

2. It could not go live at all if enough people have a problem with it.

3. Many things on the tests work fine or can be made to work fine.

4. Laser lock ghost damage is gone.

5. We do not know what will be in the test next week or how close it will be.

6. We know most of the more complex ideas some people want we will probably not get.

hard to tell if it will be a disappointment since PGI is still incapable of painting a complete picture of the changes after 3 PTS sessions, but I'm pretty sure turning the game into an infotech simulator won't be received well. Smaller balancing iterations (like giving PPCs and SRMs some love) that happen, say, once a month and can quickly be adjusted on the next balancing pass seems like a more sane way of getting the job done.

Nobody likes huge changes slammed in the faces. Especially when some are unexpected in regards of communication.

It's like rough night with beer and you thought you nailed a smokin' hot blonde only to find out in the morning that she's a phat whale with a jungle underneath.

I mean, nobody likes that right?

After almost a year of playing overquirked, full crutch-mode engaged mechs, when PGI pulls your warm blanket embroidered with the big EASY stitched into it away. I think people are in for a rude awakening in terms of balance.

Should be entertaining to say the least.

Or PGI are in for a rude awakening with disgruntled customers and canceled orders. But hey, they can ride on some of the pre-bought premium time and mech packs and little longer, maybe.

They have to be finished with the rebalance before the IIC mechs ship, because in the current state of the game, IIC mechs are going to break it.

Thats a deadline of Dec 15th. Better get working on it (hints: Sides to die on IS XLs needs to be 2. IS STD engines need to give large structure buffs to keep them relevant. IS AC10 needs buffing. AC2s still suck. PPCs are still too slow, IS ERPPCs are too hot. Suggest range nerf to C-ERML)

The voting **** and the flux in 'balance' are what prompted me to cancel my pre-order. As it is, PGI has a ways to go before they get any more of my money.

btw, i think it will be huge disbalance. And you know whats even better? 15.12. .... there will be 16 ! new mechs introduced. Nobody on earth could make it balanced, after rebalanced patch deployed just few days before that.
Together it will break the game. youll see.

I'm not going to patch up.

You going to bet it will be one big mess if Steam release is in the same month. IIC (partially or full) mechs arriving and the great rebalance all crammed just before Christmas.

Yep when they actually make mechs balanced by giving IS XL the same ability to no die as Clan XL engines and so forth should make IS mechs closer to Clan mechs, i agree.

As long as they do some tech balance (XL engines and some minor weapon tweaks is enough) and clean up in the current PTS quirk-mess it could be fine. Personally I look forward to the ECM changes.

The key now is not wreck balance by reducing quirks and not compensating adequately with tech balance.

Please contact Russ and tell him not to rush the rebalance and explain to him that the playerbase will gladly wait for a finished rebalance.

No thanks, already tried 2 times about tonnage system and vote system. No answer.

He does answer when someone writes "Hey this is cool!/I agree with u!/ Really like the new system" posts.

So, even though Bishop or Bandito can have a dialogue with that person, I simply gave up and move along.

MWO it is what it is.

It's a tough call. Recognize the choices they face. Right now, FO4 is no doubt taking away a significant chunk of the playerbase. We have been railing them for more rapid changes (given the glacial pace of some things). So, they are responding the best they can. Fast, Good, and Cheap. You can get one, or maybe two of those, sometimes, but NEVER all three.

Jeeesh fellas... give it time. Just because something changes does not mean it is bad. I've played the PTS as well and I'm not seeing anything to panic over. Changes, yes. But nothing to panic over.

Sit down and free your mind. Your arse will follow. ;)

lol, it can take all the time it needs. It's a FREE to play game. People are free to go spend their money and play other games while this one takes its sweet ol' glacial progress time if it wants. They haven't really moved the ball forward since last year, and they're heading for a train wreck end of the year just like last year. Half-ass a bunch of balance stuff, THEN add IIC's (the asshurt upon release will be legendary, and IS sycophants will be crying a flood... just wait) and God knows what else... all in time for them to go on vacation.

So like you said, give it time... like the rest of us who know how this is all going to end... not well. But hopefully you're not one of those IS only cheerleaders who plan on spending December holiday playing with your Marauder, because the QQueue's are going to be full of IIC's. So hopefully PGI will take the first quarter evaluating everything before slamming the nerfhammer down, because the forums are going to be an interesting read by the end of December.

my expectations are not high, but still, getting your panties all twisted up 3 weeks before a release that hasn't even been fully promised is psychotic. Get a grip.

Hey guys some of the balancing suggestions I read here are really awesome and I understand all the frustration with the current state of the game or the PGI-->playerbase communication. But I doubt that harassing Russ on twitter is a good way to get heard. He seems really frustrated at the moment and the man has a breaking point too. Really that's tina's Job. Tina should maybe have lenghty conversations with experienced players and lay the game a lot too to get afeel of what we are talking about, and communicate this to Russ & paul.

What's you opinion on this?
