That's not going to change things so much that veterans will no longer have numerous advantages over new players.

Not saying every single new player will get horribly stomped into the ground by everybody else, but are balance changes going to give new players even ground? Not a damn chance.

This game isn't nearly as hard or complicated to play as people on here try to make it out to be.

That may be but there's still a lot of fine details to learn, and veterans being more experienced in that regard is not the only advantage they'll have. What I mostly mean by that is fully kitted out, mastered mechs vs badly equipped trial mechs (which will be the case for most new players) but also other things as well.

I'm just saying that balance changes will not put new players on even ground with veterans because saying otherwise is delusional.

So what makes you think the Steam players won't as well?

The fact they don't know how to play, to pilot, the maps, what modules are, with that Paulconomy they cannot have good mechs in a short period of time, they will pilot horrible trials.
New comer experience sucks super-hard.

On the other hand, veterans will use the uberpowerful IIC mechs, that, without negative quirks or something, will be game-breaking; IIC mechs are even more powercreep than actual meta.

Since they are fellow gamers, do you think we have any duty to warn them about PGI?

The quality of PGI is reflected in the quality of the game, so probably not.

Who knows how the match maker is going to be set up.. for all we know that if the steam launch is high enough, they might only be playing against new steam players.. It is possible.

as for warn about PGI?>> huh??? I really don't understand why PGI has so much backlash.. In the last year since they have taken over, the game has made incredible strides.

I have a question for people that complain about PGI and this game all the time.. What exactly do you want? And can you point to a game that has it??? I am very crurious

We have a lot of armchair game producers who are upset that MWO was not made exactly as they planned and envisioned it.

That aside, there are small issues here and there. For me it's mostly been the NPE. I think PGI can afford to be a little bit more generous to new players to make them stick around so that we don't have this MM issue and ghost town CW.

Well since Steam launch is about to happen was just thinking it might be good for the community to set something up to help new players. Not sure what it should be but would be nice if he help keep as many players as possible. Any one have any good ideas?

So do you know what the rebalance is going to bring, to know that the 2C mechs are game breaking? How did you get the info?
