First up: the An Ting Legion of the DCMS.
And 2nd An Ting Legion. I took a lot of artistic licence with this one, as I wanted to bring it more in-line with the insignia of the parent unit.
1st Ariana Fusliers. Part of the Chesterton Reserve during the 4th succession war, the unit was wiped out and never rebuilt. This was also Tormano Liao's assignment. Note that this insignia is purely conjectural, but the horse is the same as the one seen on the 2nd Ariana Fusiliers insignia below, which is itself based on the canonical image for the 2nd Ariana.
2nd Ariana Fusliers. Also formerly of the Chesterton Reserves. Also wiped out in the 4th Succession war and never rebuilt. Artistic licence taken with this one to make it look more "Insignia-like"
ED: Ariana Grenadiers. This was the premiere Ariana unit, and like its sister units was destroyed in the glorious hellfire of the 4th Succession War. Boo. Anyway, the insignia, like the 1st ArianaFusiliers, is purely conjectural, as there are no available descriptions to base it off.
ED: 1st Chesterton Voltigeurs. This is mostly canonical, but I replaced the Katanas with Daos and positioned them so they would form a kind of "V".
ED: 2nd Chesterton Voltigeurs. This features quite a bit of artistic licence. Sarna.net describes it as a mounted kettle drummer, but given the technical difficulty associated with drawing a mounted kettle drummer I instead opted for just the Kettle drum.
ED: Arkab Legion (old). This is canonical, but has been replaced by a newer, sexier insignia.
ED: Vandelay's Valkyries. Artistic licence.
ED: Kestrel Combat Region Insignia. This is based off an older file that's been taking up space on different hard drives for several years. I can't speak for the canonicity, as I can't find the image in any books or on Sarna. The original appeared very similar to a USAF squadron patch. Basically included for fun.
More to come.

Maybe because I'm a greedy LC merchant but i really like the shiny one...and its not only ceremonial...polished gold of your insignia will blind any men on the battlefield
Be aware that you're talking about Stackpoles's warriors. They use Stackpolo-glasses that can see through walls, show you where to hit, see in every situation, allow you to look directly at supernovas and teach you kung-fu.
Nice chess horse insignias Hayden.

i love your wolf n exile patches. i had a wikked set made up in photoshop back in the day. i got my brothers and some of my old clan dredging around for those images but so far no joy. would it be alright if i scoop and borrow one of your patches to redo a patch for my old clan? if not that is kewl, i can do it from original game artwork.....but yours are well done and ready and would make the job much easier. can i use them as a base for my own?
HAIL and <S> and TIA

ED: So after some careful thought and much prodding by Kay Wolf, I reworked the existing unit patches and in the future will be following this different format. I.E. instead of making up words at 4 AM I'm going to give them keen and witty phrases. Credit goes to Azantia for the phrases on many of the below patches. Extra special credit goes to Kay Wolf, for talking me down from a dangerous design mistake.
First off, two "morale" patches
Next up, generic light lance/combat recon patch
followed by a generic medium strike lance patch
And last (for the moment) a heavy strike lance patch.
ED: Heavy Support Lance
ED: Assault/Command Lance
ED: Rogue Lance patch.
Blackburn's Raiders unit patch
Thanks for watching!

On a side note: "Not a single Davion mech was used that day!"

Alternately, why not take the full words and place them around the perimeter of the patch?

It looks better without having words written all over it. Every time you make a logo, it must be clear, if it needs whole sentences inside for people to understand it, then it must be redone.
Not knowing what it means is actually preffered. When you look at the logo of EA, who can know from it it's Electronic Arts? Noone. But it's still a good and representative logo.

It's a nod to a designation scheme I saw on VFA-14's (Top Hatters) insignia. On the bottom they have the word "STRIKFITRON" or "STRIKe FIghTer squadRON." I thought it seemed pretty cool, and so I thought I would use it on these and see what people thought.

In pincipal I agree whole heartedly. I generally try to avoid words at all when I do insignia, however, I had a hard time trying to decide how to convey the meaning here, since basically I was limited to a 'mech silhouette, shape, and the vagabond strip (those yellow lines with the white arrows). I wanted to avoid the use of color to preserve uniformity, though that could change as I talk to the unit about the images and their preferences.
