I will put this on my Timber Wolf. That way you would have something to laugh at as I kill you.

Hayden,

I am having a tough time putting together a more appropriate insignia for an older unit I ran, the predecessor to my Armageddon Unlimited, known as Equal Opportunity Destroyers -yes, the current commander of EOD has my permission to use the name here in MWO, if he still is-, which I intend to play as in the new BattleTech game by HBS. I need to ask your advice about the following...

Posted Image

The above idea is mine, but the visual is not what I feel it should be. I don't know if the following will help or not, but, here it goes...

- The gold is just background. I have a bitmap version of this, and I intend to make that transparent, if I continue to use this one.
- The blue and red around the field are Wolf family colors.
- The four arcs of color are supposed to represent (from top-to-bottom): black for space, blue for atmosphere, brown for ground, and green for sea.
- The sword is supposed to represent EODs ability to deliver the fight to any part of a world, and in space.
- The stars represent EOD in combat in each of those, the experience of the unit.
- The blood on the sword tip represents the sacrifices made during various contracts between 3002 and 3025.

Any suggestions? Would you do something differently?

I also don't know if the history for the unit would help or not? Let me know what you think, please?

Didn't see this get posted, must have gotten lost in a stack of notices. I think it's a pretty solid design all-around. Most of the changes I would suggest are relatively minor: I'd namely suggest different hues of blue and green (blue should be a bit more desaturated, the green should be a bit darker/bluer, and I would suggest the possibility of using a different shade of brown perhaps closer to red (but not so red that it would take from the blood on the blade). I would also suggest the possibility of making the stars yellow, unless there is a symbolism I'm missing.

Personally not a fan of House Davion, but a buddy of mine wanted a new version of the 1st Davion Guards RCT logo, so here it is.

Mark, I know I have a subscription to this forum, ever since you started it in what, 2011? However, I had not received your notice, like you had not received mine, at all. I apologize for the long response time, even though it's not my fault. Now, I decided to go with something a bit different for Equal Opportunity Destroyers in HBS' version of BattleTech, which I will no longer be supporting or playing -it took approximately three weeks for them to start down that slippery slope... where they said they would remain as close to pure canon as possible, they are decidedly not doing so, and I'm already sick to death with what PGI have done, or more accurately NOT done, with MWO, to support another game like it. Let's see if I can dig this up...

These are extraordinary!!! I love the metallic motif. Nicely done.

The problem with the Fist is they were, very much, like many of the units here in MWO... formed of people who don't understand nor adhere to military discipline nor honor, and greatly disorganized and wild. During the time of the Chaos March, Armageddon Unlimited ran into them and, barely, came away with a win, a successfully completed contract, but Fist got away largely intact. AU had been hired to suppress some raids on both Caph and Carver V, about the same time, perhaps just before MechCommander 2 takes place, and it turned out to be a tough fight against un-scrupulous and desperate MechWarriors.

I don't know how Fist of Mokal views themselves, or how their original author(s) view them, but I view them as being extremely rough around the edges, like the Gatherers from Star Trek: The Next Generation, only with 'Mechs. I'm sure they're just trying to survive, to move forward at that point, but the way I developed -for my own story purposes, of course- their means of survival puts them on the criminal edge.

15th Arcturan Guard. The central green should match up with Hayden's reworked Arcturan Guard insignia.

Very nice! Good to see the Arcturans getting some love. I personally would use only one tone of orange for the Tiger, but that is just my preference as I try to use as few colours as possible in unit insignia.

Yeah, I tried to keep it as low as possible, but with less tones in the tiger, it looks more like an orange bear with white muttonchops.

I am thinking that I should probably remove the outline strokes from the lozenge and the grass, which should go some way to decluttering it.

Looks good on the leg of a Wolfhound, though.
