Is Anyone Else Tired Of Seeing The Exact Same Mechs And Builds?

>drop in a match
>75% or more of each wave is comprised of large laser/pulse boats
>of which the majority are thunderbolts (with a few stalkers/battle masters in the mix and med pulse thunderbolts)
>the remainder are made up of 6x small laser lights (usually firestarters or ECM spiders and ravens) with the occasional ballistic boat thrown in
>a surprising amount of people run 4x tbolts drop decks (guess what builds those are)
This is a game with dozens of mechs and variants and most teams are comprised of the exact same builds. It's honestly getting old...

You should also realize that the online gaming world is usually made up of "Monkey See, Monkey Do" types. Originality is rare.
So, you either be like them and enjoy the same stuff they do, or just do your thing and enjoy that.

surprisingly Jun is exaggerating like typical Jun. You can't even fit 4 TDR in a dropdeck. That's 260 tons. The limit for IS is 250.
It's difficult to take you seriously when you straight-up make **** up.

A common clan drop deck is Timber, Swaguar, Swaguar, Cheeto. Occasionally people will roll a Hellbringer as a sub for a Swaguar.
The Proliferation of energy is two fold as well: lasers are the best at damage/heat/tonnage and they don't run out of ammo.

A lot of people in this community are filthy ******* liars. I've seen it all in CW the infamous triple Timber dropdeck, triple Stalker dropdeck, quad Thud dropdeck, the "players on the other side have 5 mechs", "that guy is hacking because he has 18 kills", "that guy is hacking because he knew I had an XL," etc...
I could probably write a book based solely on the stupidity of **** said in CW.

Two things I've vouched for since I've started plahing MWO:
1> Lowering the number of lasers allowed before the heat penalty kick in (2 for all LL, 4 for all ML, and 5 for all SL). That will help with the insta-damage from laser alphas.
2> Drastically increase the velocity of the ballistic weapons and PPC's. This will increase their accuracy effectiveness.

Laser Hurlers vs Poptarts, who will win? Place your bets.

And for the record you can't take 4tbolts into cw. 3 is maximum with enough tonnage left for a blackjack or raven

If you want short ranged combat, for example, then it needs to specially catered because when there's an open terrain even though in some parts you need to club each other, people will still prefer to bring long range loadout since it also works in short range engagements although limited. The reverse is not true. Taiga and Portico, for example, is a good example of this.
And even though there's enough variation that people have to bring dedicated brawlers, there would still be meta (loadout) because what's optimal can only be one or two at most.

It's something you have to live with when you play a video game at a relatively high level. In some ways this is a good thing. If everyone is running the same stuff but you do better than them, then your skill will stand out from the rest of the pack.
My thoughts.

There was a time when the IS had 260 or 280 or something, granted it was short lived but i remember it.
RIGHT NOW, the limit is 250. Semantics....
They have changed the IS tonnage a few times and they will more i bet

It was originally 240, then they bumped it to 250, then they brought it back to 240, now it's 250 again.
EDIT:
wrong numbers

Want to see less of it? Then try to convince PGI to reduce the power gaps between the best and the worst a bit.

Don't worry though, PGI took all the things that made them not suck and gave them to other mechs percieved as T3-4. And then some. They nerfed the TDRs for the most part. STK 4N is basically finished> get your BLRs or whatever ready.

AC20s might not be CW-meta but they sure as hell get the job done.
