Correct, because Russ's twitter account is there as a PR/promotional exercise. The best you can expect is an 'we are aware and are fixing it', because anything else looks bad.

Russ is not on Twitter to talk to current players.
He is there to be seen by potential players to be talking to current players

Understand that and you'll avoid disappointment.

He also isn't on the forums much because they are awful places for that kind of thing. Check out the responses to any post he makes on the forums, see how much wailing and gnashing of teeth (both for and against) they produce. Now imagine if he were to try and respond to a tenth of the posts on that thread, each answer creating another sequence of wailing and gnashing. Also check out any thread where a member of PGI other than Russ answers and see how wild they get. Now imagine the time involved to answer the responses to just one thread in a manner that responds to and satisfies everyone involved.

Again, understanding will help avoid disappointment.

Which is not to say they couldn't do better (they could!). Just that routes to improvement are not always that obvious

I don't know if Russ or PGI appreciate how limiting communication and feedback creates frustration, which results in loyal and civil players turning cynical and negative.

People spam Russ on twitter because that is now the only way for them to feel they are being heard. Ignore and censor them and they will simply express themselves on reddit instead, or worse - in the Steam comments. In fact, I'm afraid Steam is going to overwhelmed by disgruntled players feeling they finally have an opportunity to provide feedback, and having been "radicialized" by PGIs lack of interaction (and heavy handed censorship) they will be much more negative than is warranted.

I know that I was very annoyed by the lack of response from staff re the recent voting issues over map/mode. Having to wade through Twitter to hunt for something from Russ only made me more frustrated with the whole thing. I came very close to finding a new game, and even considered haunting PGI on venues they don't control.

I wish PGI would create a position that interacts with the community and addresses their complaints in a positive manner. I think they are creating their own Frankenstein, from a PR perspective.

Since PGI likes random modes and games. Why not just put the games modes, maps, and MECHS that I own on a carnival wheel and spin it in the game lobby. Just spin a wheel in the lobby and go to battle!! What this solves is that horrible feeling that we have knowing we went into this game mode(you don't like anyway likely) with the wrong mech. Plus you don't have to be pissed at the players in the game that made your night suck potentially playing a game you don't want, or maybe not, u just never know.. That why I propose the Carnival Wheel!!

To be fair with russ you really are an ass on twitter. Demanding, threatening and always bitxching. Nobody would want his smartphone be spammed by that negativity.
Russ gets what he asked for. If he wants feedback on Twitter instead of on the forums he's going to get negativity on his smart phone

Example: I emailed PGI staff questions about Cap Accelerator not working in Conquest. I even included my test data and was civil and constructive. On Nov 8th and, not only have I not gotten a response, my panel shows it hasn't even been read yet.

10 days with no response? Okay fine, I'm sure you are very busy.

10 days and you haven't even checked your messages? Then why even be listed as a PGI staff contact?

get tweetdeck, make a column which is displaying only Russ' activity and you have it all clear laid out. No searching, no wading. That is, if you use twitter on daily basis anyhow for work or other stuff as I do.

Yea Russ seems to only accept Criticism from select people other people he will just block when he is feeling grumpy, I maybe had tweet him like 10 times, and he blocked me because I criticized him for how he responded to someone else on twitter.. oh well.

Thanks, but i already knew this for some time. Hence the image i made.

I tried contacting him on Twitter once.

Background:

View PostSarlic, on 16 June 2015 - 02:01 PM, said:

Looks like Russ doesnt give a shite about it. I asked him about quirks or any plans 10 hours ago, including if he have recieved my message. But he keeps on Twittering other stuff and answering else 'money' related questions. What's the use of Twitter then?

I have been trying for example to add the Red eyes back on the Atlas since September 2014. It all started with a good thread of votes and via P.M. I get told everything its a easy thing to do and he puts it on the list again.

It's already lame enough that a gamestudio is using Twitter to communicate through and that i had to register to ask a simple question. I was never fond of these 3rd party where i have to scroll through just to get some info.

Whatever. Sorry, I tried.

Well, i will delete my account tomorrow off Twitter when it remains unanswered.

So why just adjust the Atlas now? It's like that i am not the only one have been fighting for it for like a year. The new player & Atlas doesnt go well together.

Current:
The most funny thing is i don't read any armor quirks on the PTS. (unless i am mistaken) I gave my feedback in PTS I. I didnt bother when PTS II, III and IIII was being announced and none of my feedback has been implented.
You can give the Atlas as much structure quirks you want but if the armor is still shaved off with a cheeselicer and a fly takes a crap on your exposed internals your main gun will be disabled in seconds and you will wander like a zombie.

A Atlas should take a longer armor beating and then zombie along on the last seconds. Not the first seconds of a intense fight where he cant do anything because it already lost his weapons so fast early in game because of terribad armor values.

The optimal mix should be a mix between both armor and structure.

But people don't understand this.

Obviously there are many AAA rated titles to play. Steam is a perfect example how CHEAPLY excellent titles can be owned and played.. I couldn't even imagine how someone inside PGI thought it was a good idea to switch the game modes just before the steam launch, to more random. To think fans are pissed about Halo 5 and the ONE MODE that has a pay to play structure. Even though you get all the DLC free.. I got mine for 40 bucks.

Now in MWO I spent 100s to play random modes and peoples favorite maps? There should be more negative feedback then there is over this, on twitter and this forum. This is absolute failure on ever single level for a game developer. Well not the ones that built it... Just the ones that thought this is a good a idea for a game to be played like this.

All you need to do PGI is understand this: When you FORCE people into games they don't want play, you better reward them in game above the normal reward structure.... OR you run the risk of losing your gamers in droves.

But i see wrong things with these:

Disgusting.

I mean that's real constructive right? /frowns.

Nothing wrong with being positive but if something is slightly negative it wont get retweeted. I'm all for feedback and constructive posts but come on, this is the company's first line of communication with a cap of 140 characters. It's already hard enough to express your concerns within that limit. All i see is retweeting the same HAPPY JOY JOY tweets.

Some of the followers are just disgusting.

Constructive criticism is allowed from Bishop and other whales, but not for other 'foreign' people without being blocked. No offense.

Got it.

Will just leave this here as how i view Twitter and things:
Spoiler

A few seconds before the tweet you just embedded from me:

From 3 days before:

Feel free to follow the conversation. Russ responded to my criticism. But oh, wait, it was not the first time:

https://twitter.com/...860335514906628

And some more:

https://twitter.com/...708234803945472

Should I go on?

You got blocked and now you are salty. Get over it, but don't involve me.

You called my tweet disgusting, so don't act all offended on me now.

I have edited the post to show the tweet links in a useable format, and I have removed the "pathetic" comment. I was angry after reading your post and I shouldn't have gone down to your level. I apologize for that.

Can't wait to see the perfect storm of long absent bittervets listing out every mistake ever made by PGI with their 0 ratings piling up, the very moment it appears on Steam.

All those banned by Twitter, this forum and so on will have their say. PGI will not profit from that, at all.

And the way this forum is performing lately. I wouldn't be surprised to see it disappear in the not too distant future.
