I find it really hard to believe that Steam takes a huge cut of sales seeing as indie developers selling games for 5 bucks can make a living off of it.

Sorry about the Caps heading, but Steam just announced what they are calling "Greenlight". Basically it shines a light on Indie and small developers to help show their game to the public, and make it more recognized. If it receives enough recognition and fanbase, they will adopt it into their store and sell it through their online store (Steam). Wanted to know if this would be a consideration for this game, though I'd like the devs to get a look at it too. The information is all here: http://steamcommunity.com/greenlight/

Thanks Fellas (And Ladies)!

its a stupid system that forces the indies to pay 100 bucks to submit their game to steam to have thousands of steam fans ridicule it for god-aweful it is/looks and most of the indie games on that list suck horribly like most indie games do

Indie games don't have to be horrible games. They had to start charging because the quality of submitted content was horrible and nothing anybody should ever pay money for, and it raised the bar to get in.

Funny, steam is what is allowing Indie games to take off. Saying most indie games suck horribly is kinda misleading since most mainstream games also suck horribly. Many indie games bring new refreshing ideas to video games and that is needed this day and age.

yet most of those so called new and refreshing ideas only appeal to the "i dont wanna think" crowd that play lame casual games which is what most of those indie games are

Have played enough of the closed Beta to buy a mech and start using it. Love it so far : )
I will buy this game as a DVD (or CD?) but not from Steam.
Don't like the way Steam works and the problems it can cause.
