Anyone notice the following?
Steiner emblem.
Atlas appears to be named "Big Ben".
Big Ben Steiner
Ben Stein?
He got a better gig than those Clear Eyes commercials. Clearly.

Sadly they aren't giving us the ability to punch newbs with our Mech fists. Lore wise they can be used to climb or punch, but in games they are limited to just making our Mechs look like cyborgs. :D

It's an old picture from the www.classicbattleteh.com. But i always liked it. Would be nice to have close range combat for mechs with arms. But well it would be nice as well to have infantry, and armors on the battlefield :D

There are 2 problems with that picture:

1) The Vulture should have replaced the Large Lasers with PPCs and downgraded the LRMs.
2) You should shoot Atlases in their big noggin.
3) You just run away from that slow assault.

There are 3 problems with your post.

1. you say 2 problems and make 3 points
2. Its not a vulture in that picture
3. The mechs involved are both assaults

good news. You were right though that the masakari could have run away.

:P  :P :(

A wild Atlas appears.
Warhawk tries to run... Can't get away.
Atlas uses Mega Punch.
Its supper effective.

I can't believe that people are arguing as to whether the 'Mech being punched is a Masakari/Warhawk or not. Looks pretty obvious to me. Ooh, the Warhawk doesn't have a missile launcher there or the paint scheme isn't a Clan paint scheme... Are you serious? Look at a lot of the Battletech artwork - it rarely matches the "official" version of the 'Mech(s) it is supposed to represent. Damn some members of this community can get petty at times.

EDIT: Also, before people go ahead and make ill-informed posts, perhaps they should do a little research first. The Prime configuration of a Masakari/Warhawk has an LRM-10 in its left arm, but there's no reason why the missile launcher couldn't be in the right arm. It's simply the artist's interpretation.

As for the Atlas being too powerful...

Whats funny is that most Clans usually see mech melee combat as dishonorable which I never really could wrap my head around. Is it because they get butt hurt do to their technological superiority goes out the window? If that's the case then those Clanners must really really really hate Clan Sea Fox's Porcupine which is a light mech which is designed to ram enemy mechs and put Assault mechs on their a$$.

You know, the picture of the Kodiak above tells a different story. Frowning upon close combat =/= being scared or unable to do close combat. It is deemed less honorable, but still remains an option. Learn more you must, young Skywalker

@Coralld
Why don't you try to find out? It sure beats the same old same old dirty tricks that seemingly everybody pulls in the Inner Sphere.

i have a little red box with about 6 decks worth of these old battetech card game cards. And thats 6 like full themed playing decks plus a crap ton of spares and resource cards, not to mention i kept most of the wrappers they came in.

worth next to nothing these days but amazing personal value.

See I said it was a masakari in my first post but right away someone said no its not. That is why I was asking what I asked in my post you quoted. Its obvious by the lack of response the person I was quoting that he was wrong.

( No I don't seriously think the Devs will add the ability to do this, least not in the foreseeable future. )
