The current U.I is horrible.
Modules are actually hidden in a some kind of loosy tab which you have to click about twice to open it on EACH mech to find where you modules did go.

There is a much quicker way to find modules, on the "select Mech" screen expand the Mech details box, scroll down and there is a Modules line, expand it and you can, just by clicking once on each Mech, see what modules the Mech has, however with my 150+ Mechs it is still time consuming to find a specific module like that

not disagreeing but it is much better than it was a year and a half ago, or even 6 month ago (although I think it was still in some ways better before UI 2.0)

I pack raderp even on a 48kph KGC. Yeah, if I get caught in the open I'm going to get clobbered. But if I'm in the rocks on Forest City, or in buildings on River or Crimson, or can drop over the caldera in Mordor or Caustic, I can temporarily stop the rain. Then that Red is so gonna get it when I reposition.

Guys, you are going offtopic. The question was answered on the last page already and the question if Radar Deprivation or Seismic Sensors are better was no part of the question. (And I know that a lot of people say it is the one way, the others it would be the other way).

Some others may have covered this, but I find radar deprivation very useful on some of my light and fast medium mechs. Since 6 mil is pretty steep I don't have a lot of modules. I put it on non-ecm mechs, then if I duck behind cover and break line of sight they lose target instantly. So even if the lrms would have flown over that cover, they can't target me there. Anyone else loses you, too, so it's not just for lrms. Like I said, it benefits faster mechs more, and is most useful for mechs which lack ecm.

I should point out, too, as someone above said the advanced zoom is more important, that that answer is kind of conditional. Sure you should buy one, but which mech should have it? Firestarter with small pulse lasers has absolutely no use for it. But a mech with er large lasers and/or ppcs can benefit a lot because it makes it easier to aim and hit at long distances. The mechs I use derp on tend to be brawlers, the ones with zoom zre long range.

I think the biggest issue here is that the OP already got Rderp for free. Sure some might see seismic/advanced zoom as more useful, but would you recommend spending c-bills on it before you run out of free mechbays? I submit that by the time you accumulate enough c-bills to buy all the mechs you want you will probably accumulate enough gxp to unlock a second module.

Even quicker, on the home page there is an inventory tab with all your mechs, you can click each of them there and the window that pops up has the modules front and center. I know your pain with 150+ mechs, after the black Friday sale I'm above 200. I try to only have modules in one mech and I strip them out when I change my ride. Tedious, but required so I don't have to spend 15 minutes looking for a module.

Dont even think. Its the single most op module of the game. Get it in skill tree you wont be able to play without it. I own 20 myself.

Unlock and equip radar derp asap, it is by far the single most usefull module.

why?

It breaks locks obviously, that's not only important to offset missilespam but also for other major points.

1. your enemies will most likely lock onto another lock if yours is broken.
2. If you do not have the module, every enemy mech has several seconds to lock onto you.
3. they will automatically lock onto you again if they didn't change the lock to another mech.
4. everyone on your team most likely has a radar derp module equiped, means you are the derp who doesn't have it and is getting targeted bosslevel.

Also, and this is important, radar derp does not only break locks, it also gives visual and audio feedback every time an enemy mech locks onto you. So you always know if a mech is targeting you or not.

i can not stress this enough, get at least one radar derp module and switch it out every time you're using another mech.
It is worth every c-bill and every single gxp.

Very good point.

But I've forgotten - the chirp you get, is that when someone locks you or when you break their lock?

the chirp and flash are when a lock is broken, there is no indication when someone has you targeted (unless the lock is being used to fire missiles at you)

the chirp and flash are when ALL locks are broken.
Fixed it, so it's complete.
