You know, there is absolutely zero reason for you to be uncivil. But considering some of the sniping comments you've made towards me and my members since the day we got here, I'm really not surprised.

Let me check something here...

Yep. Still flatlined.
How you do things in your merc unit is entirely up to you, and is none of my concern. How we do things is entirely our business and is none of your concern. If you have a problem with it, that's your fault. If you think it's a big joke, well that's also your issue. You be as serious or unserious as you want, and we'll continue laughing as you attempt to tell us how unserious you are. We don't take it that seriously either, but seriously guy... you need to calm down. You've made it an issue numerous times. For someone who doesn't take it so seriously, it seems to be a big talking point with you. Relax, guy. It's a video game. Sheesh. Play it your own way and let others play it theirs. Wow.

I've had almost zero interaction with you or your people aside from your art request, where, since you had requested work from multiple artists at once, I bowed out since I didn't have time to do it if there were other people already covering the work. So I don't know what your issue is with me.
Here I thought you were saying it actually would be fun playing with me, but I guess you were being sarcastic.

Also, how do you not take it seriously if you're worried about "OpSec" in a video game?

Um, I wasn't directing "TROLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL! I know we're supposed to be nice but when someone prostrates themselves in stupidity... I accept any consequences for my actions, it's worth it and I can't help myself. (LOLOLOL)" at you at all, it was just a silly comment that popped in my head. Apologies if you thought I was aiming it at you.
We've had almost zero interaction with you or your people aside from your coincidental presence in a given random thread. So I don't know what your issue is.
I'm sure we would love to play with you, quite honestly. But probably not in the way you might be thinking. More like how a cat plays with large bugs or small animals.
Also, how are you not taking it seriously if you care so much as to keep coming back?
Hey gaiz, I just randomly thought of something funny. "Hi, I'm Dihm, and I'm dihm witted! I think it's clever to make veiled comments to/at people and then claim that they are over reacting when they respond to my unnecessary comments, like no one will EVER figure it out! Right???
NOTE: NOT DIRECTED AT OR TOWARDS DIHM AT ALL.
Thanks for reading, have a nice day.

I know it's offtopic, but since I'm fairly new to the whole Mechwarrior Universe, I would like to know, what the benefits of being in a Merch Corp are. Is it just for people who don't want to get involved with the clans?
I read something about loyality points, but I cannot really associate that with something. So I got some questions left open for me:
As a mercenary, wouldn't it be better to just go to the faction which is paying the most?
Is there any inGame option to get you paid when fighting for another faction?
And the most important question for me:
How can I be sure to get paid? ;D

The Clans will not be implemented for awhile yet. Might as well play House or Merc, what ever suits your style.

Factions have history and character. Some are pro mercs some are hostile to mercs. At least that is how it is in Battletech history. It is yet to be seen if that will carry over into MW: O. So it might not always be in your favor to go with the highest payer. Loyalty points also are built up with each houses as you execute your contracts. However working for a Davion contract against Kurita will obviously gain you LP with Davion and lose you LP with Kurita.
Is there any inGame option to get you paid when fighting for another faction?
Complete the contract to the best of your ability.
How can I be sure to get paid?
The contracts are made and paid by the computer. If you complete the contract you will be paid accordingly.
For more information on the Battletech Universe head to http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Main_Page
For MechWarrior: Online, it is 3049 and runs day for day. So todays date in game is July 26, 3049. That will be your guide for what to read in the Battletech wiki.

Loyalty Points are MW:O's way of measuring your reputation level. It's like Rep in WoW or exp for rep with your faction. Your LP determines what level/rank you are at with a given faction, and thusly what benifits you are entitled to with that faction.
As far as I've heard, you can only be with 1 faction at any given time. You can switch factions at any time, but you sacrifice your LP and who knows what else in order to do it.
Also, you cannot just go to where the biggest contracts are. You wont get any of the bigger contracts until you gain LP with any given faction. And thusly, you only get higher rated contracts with the faction you have LP with. So constantly switching factions will keep you stuck with the lowest ranked contracts possible.
So being in a faction is good. You can do this by getting into a house, or working for any particular house repeatedly.
As for the in-game con's/pro's of being in a Merc Corp or not, I don't really know. You can be a lone wolf, there's an option for that. But what benifits that has, I haven't heard anything. I do know your Merc Corp leader can set ranks and permissions and stuff in game, but I don't know anything beyond that myself.
Out of game, there's way more benifits to being in a Merc Corp like BWC. Knowledge,
Training, Organization, just to name a few.
EDIT: Right, right! contracts and payments are handled by the game, so you don't worry about any of that. I know higher level's the contract's are bid upon by merc corps that compete for the contracts via silent bidding. That's it though for that.
Also LP will effect certain perks such as market prices and whatnot. Not sure what else though.

I'm not worried about OPSEC. We just merely practice it, just like you may practice Christianity or Judaism or masturbation to Asian schoolgirl ****. It has been my policy for at least ten years of online gaming. It is simply part of our lives. It is not something I have to actively think about or participate in, it merely forms a small part of the larger core that makes BWC what it is.
Cheers!

This thread talks about joysticks. I am sure a good search will help find more. As to the actual game, cannot talk about Closed Beta. I always used joysticks for MW2 and 3. Perhaps not as accurate as a mouse, but feels more right.

That explains things much more clearly, thank you.
And I really was apologizing if my comments came out as insulting you, and was not being mocking. Silver lining is that we have found a subject that is touchy and I can avoid it in the future.
