"framedrops" On Minimaop

I am having my usual fps in the high 30s to 50, but the minimap seems to have only 10-15 "fsp".

actually all the visuals are lagging or at a different fps. Heat, cool down, etc.

If the frame rate for the HUD is a fixed fraction of the overall frame rate (no idea if that's how it actually works, just a theory), it could explain why the HUD is choppy for some. If you have a super-high frame rate (or if you lock it at 60) then the HUD would always be operating at a decent frame rate and look smooth to the naked eye. But if you are on a lower performance machine, and you live with 30 fps in combat, having the HUD updating half as fast would lead to visible choppiness for sure.

Nope, fps in game is 60fps with v-sync constant, but all HUD stutters, minimap, Compass Bar, Heat bar, Speed bar.

Now that the change is in the wild we're going to keep an eye on the feedback to see if we need to pull this back, but it's worth pointing out that these changes have led to an average performance boost between 5-10 fps for a wide range of machines. Ideally we would prefer to keep that performance boost in place.
If any of you are up for it, what I need your help to determine is just how noticeable these changes are on your end. If possible, some video showing the severity of the issue on your client would be helpful.

Maybe add a video setting for the HUD where users can choose performance or looks. Best of both worlds
Looking at it in game I can deal with the choppy map (almost a neat effect), but the top compass being laggy is really jarring and looks bad.

Please dont make a trade off, this game is CPU sucking as is.
Add a damn slider to the client or something or a user.cfg variable.

I think you're right here. My rig at home runs nicely at 50-60 fps, and the HUD is mostly fine. My rig at work runs at 30fps, and the HUD is choppy as heck.

i7@3.08GHz w/GTX680: 5FPS (choppy and eyes start to move jerking left and right as the map jumps) - maximum settings;
i3 w/GTX460: 2FPS (even arrows start to jump around; impossible to play) - minimal settings.
How do I shoot the video of it (freeware programs, please)?

Hi there! I thought I'd at least tell you that as a laptop user (750M Nividia, dunno what my CPU is), I went from averageing 15-20 FPS to getting 50-60 FPS. When I look at the map, I can see everything move smoothly, same with my heat bar and gauss charging meter. Thanks so much for the update and optimization.

During play it feels like something is wrong, something stuttering.

Choppiness is very noticeable, but seems relative to the games frame rate.
