been there, done that.

I've even quit the Oceanic MRBC team that Mr Bear (from 256) formed up...

I just enjoy casual pugging now... like I said, I like that mwoe is an irrelevant robit arena shooter...

it's a game. Counter Strike: Global Offensive.

A First Person Shooter, in which 5 people vs 5 people, and if you die you don't respawn til the end of the round. It's the best out of 30 rounds (first to 16 that is). Each round you adjust what your strategy is depending on the pros and cons of the team you have vs the team you're facing off against.

It has some of the best trained communicators in any game I've seen. Far superior to MMO style comms for example. Very dynamic and fluid gaming.

Great game, but very much grindy as far as the community tends to pick the same maps all the time. Also, there's no element of progression except in personal skill and team building.

It's fun in casual but most fun in comp.

LOL you just described MWO to a tee Posted Image

Welp glad new folks are coming. Looking forward to having you all chase me Posted Image

Just a heads up, I am anti FPS games. But the majority of that stems from console's as a whole.

Well I did just listen to it all through.

My opinion really hasn't changed much. If you don't have a prior interest in BT/Tank style games you probably aren't going to figure this out well enough in short enough time to get to the point you want to stick around.

The communication/teamwork aspect is ONLY going to work if the players that come play in their own unit. If they try to drop solo they probably won't play more than 10 matches.

Furthering that, when they see the prices for basically anything and match that up against the 15 dollars they spent on CS.......

15 dollar? SO many CS:GO players have spent 500+ on skins alone, nothing but pretty graphics.

BTW. torso turning to leg motion is pretty damn simple. Shield arming is simple. Have you really mastered basics so well that you think they're advanced? All the player needs is a basic idea of the concept and they will be hammering it out in no time flat.

The arrogance of the idea that a gamer cant play this game is appalling. Elitist crap. It's just a control system guy. It's not some kind of mystical power you have. Anyone can learn it, and learn it fast.

Stop clinging to a game feature like it makes you better than other gamers. If a CS:GO player can throw trick grenades or 2 tap across a map to the face, do you really think they're going to balk at a torso twist lol. pfft.

Long time vet here.

This guy has it down, just because you have been playing this game for 2+ years does not make you a better player. Knowledge of the meta will get you a lot, but the raw mechanical skill can be learned in any game.

There are a lot of groups out there that will do exactly as he described, but there are a good number of them that do actually listen to new players just the same as vets.

Sry But CS:GO has outdated and rather unspectacular graphics, its not a pretty game what so ever.

Ummm Envisage i would stop while your ahead.

Don't get me wrong I am glad new folks are coming I really am but let me ask you a question here.

You keep talking about Shield Arms, and Torso twisting damage and such....

Ummmm How are you going to protect your legs?

Rarely do I aim above the crotch. :>

Stop while I'm ahead? lol. Ahead of what?

Legs are a matter of knowing and spotting terrain, and also inverting momentum. I'm glad you aim low, because most people don't. I tend to aim for the gyro location myself, unless I'm placing a shot specifically for a purpose, but in a blind fire I'm going for the gyro.

Darian Delford. I'm about to post a 7.5 minute condensed "informational" video, where I squirrel out an entire company for I don't even know how long.

You over estimate the general player base. And as I say in a video, the top 10%.... not the top 1%. There's a difference.

I'm getting the feeling all the best player must sit on the forums comparing themselves to my comments instead of playing the game? Has it become that boring at the top end? :-(

Stop while YOU'RE ahead mate.

sorry, just wanted to show you how ridiculous that sounds :-)

Very true, shame CS:GO is a stale, bland twitch shooter, but then thats just my own personal opinion, plenty disagree.

Would just like to point out that the complaint about getting stuck on terrain is based off the logic and physics of it.

Giant robots are supposed to be able to walk over stuff and not stub their toe on what is a pebble by comparison.

Its not as if most of the players regularly get stuck in it. We just want it fixed anyway because its still disconcerting irregardless of whether we get stuck in it or not. It breaks immersiveness.

I despise waiting minutes to respawn. If anything I'd like respawn ticket gameplay added to MWO like living legends or bf 1942.

Sorry, my time is more valuable and the more seat time I get in the action, the better. Staring at a screen just frustrates and pisses me off. There's only so many websites you can read before you get bored.

While I agree with a few of the points from the video, I did get a chuckle out of the "CS:GO" bit.

Old Tribes and Quake players are more intense and adaptable than any CS or CS:GO folks I've run across. (also more mature.)

God, my blood pressure is rising just thinking about playing T2.

Don't really think its going much of a difference. I'm sure there are already enough people here who also plays CSGO and MWO, and probably other games like DOTA, LOL, (insert MMO), Battlefield, Diablo 3, Planetside 2, WoT, etc you name it.

Some may come and go back, some may stay and be really good or be just average. Even those that became good will simply be similar to the already top tier teams ie : they will quickly take advantage and abuse the current meta and strategise appropriately, thats it.

This is an arena styled game and as such, the complexities of strategies and tactics are confined to just that, the combat itself. When PGI finally do something about CW, maybe the game will finally has the depths it needs but right now, thats all there is.

Anyway, CSGO, Battlefield, WoT insert any other shooter...all of these games combined won't even match the brutal competitiveness and sheer cutthroatness of Eve Online. The players there are on another level (or 100) and the only other game that beats it is a game called "Real Life" lol Posted Image If you think you've seen some real "pro" communication in arena based shooters, the "communication" and coordination in Eve Fleet battles will blow your mind.

True words. I've been in competitive gaming clans in both Quake and CS (1,6 + Source) and all I can say, the intensity of a competitive Quake matches would make me want to eat and swallow my mouse whole at the end, I was that pumped up.

come on now.

I'm gonna trust in my vastly longer experience in the game and the maps than your couple of weeks of "extensive" knowledge about the flaws in the game maps.

Good luck "walking around" all those easily spotted obstructions.

Also, your wild eyed optimism/blind faith is enjoyable to watch. It reminds me of the "good ol' days" back in closed beta where we thought all our dreams were going to come true.
