hate to break it to you guys..but this game is getting nothing but bad reviews across the board ..including steam..so i wouldnt be expecting an influx of steam players.doesnt look like its gonna happen...in fact the steam post promoting this game has been taken down. o.O
in fact steam players are more interested in mw3..guess they prefer a real MW game.

They should be reset BEFORE the event because it must be one hell of a stubborn and ignorant marketing department if they learned NOTHING from the previous event. Letting us know 1 day in advance of such an event means they do not understand their community one bit. I have a unit with more than 200 pilots taking a time out in a different faction before the steam release, and now they squeeze this really big event in? They should make this between christmas and new year, thats when most players have time and the new steam pilots will have a grasp how to play. But instead we exclude the newcomers and slam the door in their face?

It was kinda obvious they were doing this...

I already got my CW drop deck sorted out as well as started playing again because it was obvious a map reset before steam release and Tukayiid was also obvious as well... as recently tukayiid switched factions to "PGI faction" which basically means "this will be heavily involved soon" also I think they said that tukayyid was coming soon again.

God damn it, the same thing happened with Mechwarrior: Prime to a degree which killed it and same story with MW: LL (at least MW: LL was able to shrug it off)... well not "steam" ,but just bad publicity after awhile as people get there nickers in a twist over everything until the game dies as anyone who looks into the game is hammered by a wave of "dead game" and "***** balance" and so on...

MercStar won that last one. not the clans.

Good Sir, I find your statement insulting and blatantly incorrect.

The CLANS won the first Tukayyid event. Not Mercstar.

It is true that Mercstar was the Most Valuable unit, and by a fair margin, but it was in no-way one sided. It was a team effort, and saying that only Mercstar was the key, would be like saying that the most deserving person for the moon landing was Neil Armstrong.

When in fact, he was just the most famous.. And the praise goes to thousands of scientists and engineers.

So don't tell me MS won the Tukayyid event for us.. its just not true.

And if you think it is, you are either ignorant, or just a common troll. Not even a bridge troll, or a cave troll.. Just a common one.

P.S.

Why don't we dig up some actual numbers and see?

https://www.reddit.c...kayyid_winning/

Ok, so lets see...

MS - Wins: 5664

Now let's compare that to some other big clan units..

CWI - Wins: 2901
SWOL - WIns: 3224

Ok, so we can conclude that MS did as well as the next to biggest WOLF units combined.. Bravo MS.

Smoking J's - Wins: 2296
CGBI - Wins: 2789

But when put up against the clan's collective success... not even close.. Keep in mind, these are just the biggest units.

The link above shows the full stats.

Overall, Mercstar was a big part of the Clans winning, but certainly did not score a single handed victory, nor was that decisive that we would not have done it without them..

To be honest, I really don't feel like doing the math..(since I'm at work, I really don't have the time anyway) can somebody please add up all the other clan unit stats and see if the clans would have achieved a mathematical victory over the IS if Mercstar's score was 0?

Let's settle this nonsense once and for all..

And If we would have lost, I will, good sir, apologize publicly and admit my mistake, praising the OP might that is Mercstar.

If we would have won, I will demand a public apology and your previous statement retracted.

Agreed?

I expect horrible waiting times because of the imbalance in player numbers on IS / clan side - exactly like last time.

T1 was enjoyable as a Clanner because of instant matches, but was a horrible and very frustrating experience for IS pilots who hat to wait up to 25 minutes for a match only to get stomped by a clan 12-men in less than 20 minutes - resulting in even more frustration because of low scores for the event.

The very short time frame of the event increases the pressure on the players even more, as 72 hours for 40 games (minimum amount for max rewards) are far from enough if you consider friends & family 'duties.'

Finally, and as was already mentioned, the timing for the event is more or less bad. People want to level up their Marauders, Clanners have to adjust to their mechs and my gut feeling is a lot of the latter are reluctant about playing on clan side.

All of this will probably lead to another bad CW experience including horrible waiting times. I don't hope so, but it probably will play out that way. :-(

Night, if you're following lore, Clans wouldn't have merc units in there... like... at all. Clans dispossess merc units. they take their mechs. half the time they EXECUTE them (Wolf's Dragoons were a special case).

also.. F.Y.I. you have to pay to get out of contracts, regardless of kind in real life. it's the same here. I would like to see tags be lost on planet when you swap sides though... I mean, you're no longer the unit defending that world, after all.

I am familiar- but let's also take the fact that pre-invasion clans got into the inner sphere and pretended to be merc units, such as Clan Goliath Scorpion.... was it the "phanton scorpions" the merc unit they 'made' ?... can't quite remember...

Dear PGI,

1. please fix the cw match score system (do not divide it by the number of mechs you have used)

2. please give a player an Tukayyid Event Point FOR EVERY 100 MATCH SCORE they can achieve in a match (this will reward good players to finish the event multiple times quicker)

At least do 2.

Agree! If the queue is as broken for IS as it was last time it will be more or less impossible to reach 40 points.

F*ck this guys.
If they want to to play MW3, then they go play it and shut there mouth.
Tired of theses guys unable to live in the present.

This is a MULTIPLAYER GAME. There IS difference with the Old Time!
Heck the Multi of the old Games were far from being has good has MWO! In MWO, most of the mech got a chance and are actually good in battle.

In the old game, it was just a bunch of them and the Meta was even more present.
F*ck theses guys, my review on steam will be one that treat all the aspect of MWO and not just "this game suck ololol" lik somes ******* will do.

Now, on topic. Can't wait to hope in a CW match and try out my new Marauder against the Clanner. Bring it on guys! Bring it on!

Of course they will do another Battle because on Steam release the map will be reset. It is really no-brainer.

There was only one such "Merc unit", the Wolf's Dragoons. They were sent to "scout" the IS and report back to the clans, delaying the invasion by 30 years.

Their "true" mission was to "prepare" the IS for the coming invasion, because Clan Wolf wanted to safeguard the IS and delay the invasion pushed by Clan Jade Falcon.

But when an IS ship suddenly appeared in the orbit of Strana Mechty, the jig was up, and the Invasion was hastily pushed forward and initiated. Clan Wolf lost a trial of grievance on this, and was humiliated into leading the invasion. Then ended up out-performing every other clan at it, including the Jade Falcons.

Wolf's Dragoons then revealed their origins, but stayed to fight on the side of the Inner Sphere. Some members did go back to the clans though, most famously, Natasha Kerensky (The Black Widow), of Clan Wolf. She ended up being quite famous and had a big influence on later events.

Definitly, piloted a Dire Wolf, was unstoppable on the battlefield even when she was pretty old. The best is it took another old warrior (old by clan standart) to bring her down. Joanna, a Jade Falcon warrior.

And did I mention that during that fight Natasha had the upper hand all the way and was killed because Joanna used a jumpjet on the feet of her Summoner in the cockpit of Natasha?

well that's interesting... but why did clan wolf want to help the IS? are they not a crusader clan? (I know they later split with 1 half in exile being warden)

BAD:
Dear PGI. Please open Google and search for what “epic event” means. If you want create REALY EPIC EVENT before promised new CW phase, all rewards for it must be also epic and unique. We don’t need those items, that we can buy any time for MC. We need something special, something you can’t have other way but participating in Epic event. Something that we can be proud of, and show to the newcomers from Steam, like… like “operation 24” hanging item, and “on the isle” standing item, do you catch it? We also need better top prices like mech packs and BIG MC prises, not.... that you promised. So far this AGAIN very lazy implementation with minimum work input. Really PGI? Don’t you feel ashamed?

GOOD:
Possibility to kick IS certain “body locations” despite all IS buffs and Clan nerfs – priceless.

They didnt help the IS. They were scouting ahead of the invasion for Clan Wolf and gathering information while pretending to be an IS Merc unit so as to study the different IS powers. Shortly before the invasion started they were recalled to clan territory.

A bit disappointed not to see any free mechs this event. But you can get 3 mechbays worth of MC and we had a chance to get free TBR in trick or treat not long ago so I guess it's all right.
What worries me though, why do we have half the time (3 days instead of 6) to get 80% the points (40 instead of 50) compared to the last Tukayyid event? Many pilots seem to be concerned with those limitations.
And I really like the idea mentioned above of replacing 40 100 score matches with a total score of 4000+ or something. On the plus side every match you have qualifies. You can either play more or play harder to get all the rewards. The downside is decent pilots can cover 4000 match score in under 10 matches. It doesn't necessarily mean they would stop playing immediately but they can at least change priorities. So this total score needs to be adjusted. And since score depends on amount of unused mechs maybe there's a point in switching to total dmg instead. It's not solo queue, you have 4 different mechs (mostly heavies) instead of one so I don't see anything wrong with this one.
I believe that autumn harvest challenge had a sole purpose to test those things out. So it shouldn't be new.
One more crazy idea: why not give additional 50-100K C-bills for every qualifying match after 40.

Why does PGI always make this even a week before finals... Gonna be cramming down on ma studies I hope instead of playing this poorly timed event for a large majority of us college people.
