I'm amused you freebirth think you could stop us from taking anything we wanted.

Um... this whole thread is about how you are not getting what you wanted repeatedly asking please for it...

Despite nerfs? Those nerfs were completely justified. As for Tukayyid, PGI should just hand it over. The whole thing is due for a Steam release reset anyway.

Well, and they still had to have Mercs do the heavy lifting for them...silly test tube Furries......

Sure...just give us real Clan mechs, and uh...lose the quirks.

I'm for it. Unfortunately then you have to separate out the Clan and IS pug queues. Wow, now it sounds really good!

Oh, and we get Comstar mechs.

Sure. And we fight 5v8 (not that laughable 10v12 you clanners keep trying for) and you follow Zell, etc..........

In the real Battle of Tukayyid, Clans brought 4500 mechs worth of forces vs. Comstar's 15000 mechs worth of forces. So it is actually 1:3 odds. Posted Image

And Clans are barred from using mercs and artillery.

True, was just using the basic small unit rules. If Clans brought a Trinary, it was usually against an IS Battalion (15 vs 36-40) or a Cluster vs Regiment (45 vs 108-132 if a fully equipped regiment with separate Battalion Command Lances and a regimental command company)

Was mostly pointing out the ludicrousness of the 10v12 idea, which even with "nerfed" Clans would still favor the Clans, ATM.

Well, at least as long as they have the top Comp Merc teams carrying them.

The whole Clan 3050 invasion lost its immersion the moment Merc units were able to fight for their side. Clans do not use mercs.

Since there is no in-game mechanic to supporting anything you said, does that make your post...........insane?

As stated before you have a choice to use stars, bid and fight one on one. You don't need PGI to do that. Especially if you are running a 12 man. The only thing stopping you is you.

Eh? I thought this event was staged as an excuse to reset the map for steam launch. Or maybe I was mistaken in my assumption.

Yeah yeah...and the majority of the IS folks were running around with Star League tech upgrades as though they were common as muck.

If you would really like to go by lore, Clan Wolf suspended all zellbrigen when it was their turn to drop.

In the battle of Tukayyid, Comstar provided all the 'Mechs, so they were all Star league tech.

I fought in 'Mechs of 3030 era or older using level 1 tech.

It's just as insane as asking for Terra if you're trying to stick with lore.

I don't think it's exclusively a lore-based argument. I think wolf is asking for Terra b/c they've had it blockaded for weeks/months 10 planets deep and have now won Tukkayid twice. I think they're basically saying, "If we don't deserve Terra at this point, who does?"

I have read some of the posts in this thread, but during such time, I have accidentally released "wind" and now I have to depart because the smell has begun to creep up toward my nostrils, which has caused me considerable discomfort.

I apologize, but I can no longer stand the sulfurous stench any longer.

I shan't return.

Okay, okay. I don't mind people trying to bring lore into this, but if your going to quote lore do it right.

I'm tired of seeing all this 'Clans didn't use mercs!' trash. Grab a book, read up on Phelan Kell. Or Phelan Wolf as he is better known as.

Now, I only skimmed, so I'm may have missed it, but since the OP started with some lore, I figure, let's end it in the style of lore.

-----

"I call a Trial of Refusal. Clan Jade Falcon, whilest originally planning on allowing Wolf it's victory and thus the right to claim Terra as it's own, heard tell that an unnamed Wolf unit chose to hide in their dropship spawn on counter attack when faced with an equal number of IS pugs. While such rumors are no doubt false, the very fact that others could believe one of the clans capable of such is unacceptable and throws doubt on the veracity of our all our conquests, not just those of the Wolves. We cannot allow even rumors of such shameful tactics to go unanswered. Looking at points this would give Clan wolf 5-4 odds, or ten mechwarriors to our eight. Daunting odds, but not insurmountable.

Should Clan Jade Falcon win however, We declare that All Clans should retreat back to the Periphery, abandoning all our holdings to their original factions. Then, we may begin the invasion again, properly, and the glory thus won will not be tainted by such absurd and dishonourable rumors.

Only time will tell which of us is victorious. May the best clan win."

Wow. So a super rarity... an IS person gets adopted into the clan is now "lore" reasoning for them using entire mercenary units.

Yup, sounds totally legit.
