And people think I'm silly for doing that! (though admittedly, thanks to winning a gift pack, I ended up with and Origins HBK-IIC pack on my IS account... salvage, I guess!)

And so the next Mech Pack arrives.

It's pretty shocking how the frequency of mech packs have been increased since Sept' 14 previous year.

And as far i can predict selling mech packs is becoming saturated. In other words: Their primary selling point is starting, if not already, to see some serious cracks.

People are getting tired of seeing more expensive mech packs and seeing nothing more then minimum effort in return.

So...because they went back to their Mech a Month model, instead of 4 mech jumbo packs, this means the sky is falling?

Or maybe... it's because people have been busting their balls for over a year about those stupid jumbo packs being crap?

If one gets the early adopter basic packs, you get a freaking steal. The (S)pecial edition packs I do wish would be a separate variant (which would be available for Cbills on normal cbill release, just without special paint/geometry/cbillboost). And for Heavies and Assaults anyhow, the 15$ Hero price ain't bad. Might not work as well with Lights and Mediums.

I literally can't remember what the Archer was supposed to look like, so this one is pretty good.

See, if they just never called it Battletech to begin with we wouldn't have a tenth of the already small player base, we wouldn't have these redesign complaints.

In all seriousness, if I wound up buying it, the first thing I'd do is drop everything for (S)SRMs. Since there are no IS SSRM4/6, probably regular SRMs, maybe artemis. Would also depend on the state of the rebalance and mech perks.

I never said the sky is falling.

But it's kind of logic that if you increase mech packs and for example one Founder have bought all the packs so far starting from the original Founders program then i can imagine that he is eventually getting tired of buying more pacls because he already have so many other mechs.

It's literally saying that he or she is getting burned out because of it's primary selling point.

The low and minimum effort is how i see things, and i'm sure i can't be the only one.

and the size of them torso hitboxes.

With a Dragonlike shape..not sure is it'll be a great brawler. If it does get decent hitbox and structure quirks, you can fit up to 6xSRM4, with 8 tons of ammo, with 4 MLs and still fit a 325std engine. Honestly, always felt Artemis was a waste on 4s, and that your basic 4 was better at concentrating damage than a aSRM6, anyhow. (plus better RoF, ammo consumption)

Sounds like the Orion build I broke 1300 damage with LRMs with Posted Image

I'm thinking we are going to get these 3....

ARC-2R - classic one
ARC-2K - bigger energy one, probably less missiles more laser arms
ARC-5S - star league upgrade, narc beacon slot

Morgan Kell Hero variant - who knows? ECM and the 2R build otherwise to emulate the 'ghost mech' thing? "Hounder" or "Ghost"?

Archer variants, only underlined ones have different hardpoints stock
-2R definitely
-2K could be made off the 2R
-2S +2 Missile over 2R
-2W can be made off a 2S
-4M updated tech but same as 2R
-5R updated tech but same as 2K
-5S updated tech, same as 2S +1 Missile for NARC
-5W 5 Missile, 70 tons of Catapult-A1 without jump

Gonna guess 2R with +2 Missile (2S), 5S, 5W
Watch the 5W be the extra CB one at the $40 level. Posted Image

Dragon CT just like I called...oh...well, 2+ years ago, technically, but more recently ever since the MAD was announced.

And yeah, those are the models I expect to see, too..though probably,(mind you probably, not for certain) the 2R will be the Collector. And Morgan Kell the Hero.

Only reason I was thinking 2K is if they want to give one of the variants more energy in the arms that seems like one to do it with. Dunno if they will give many variants with XL engines though? Seems like they only have one XL engine most times?

That's just awesome...

Now give me some MRM's to go in it and we are rocking!

well, MAD variants have 3 out of 4 with Xls (and JJs and DHS), 2 RLs out of 4 with XLs. Whammy the only one without Xls, overall (The BW has one, that's it), and that's because few of the era correct models had one.

Cool, I was never interested in the MAD so never looked. Might be nice then.

Those arms, when lifted, will be at or above the height of the cockpit. The CT hardpionts are the best energy mounts ever. The missile mounts are also more than high enough to do the job well regardless of terrain.

All in all it seems like a really nice ride. I'm very eager to my hands on them.

Let me add another voice to wanting the bay doors. No open launchers, please, Archers have missile doors.

I'm hoping for Morgan' Kell's hero mech too, though I have no idea how they'll design it.

Will they fix LRMs tho? Because right now they don't stand up to lasers and AC's at all. LRMer's have to cower behind rocks especially if they are slow. All know this.

well, with STD engines, you only get a 1.5 ton advantage over the 70 tonner with the Orion. Counting structure, maybe a 1 ton adv. Suppose the question is....would that 1 ton be worth not having the high mounted TAG?

Mind you, with XLs, you free up another 1.5 tons.... but then you leave your squishy STs as tempting bait for a Medium Mech jock like myself who loves nothing more than cornering LRM boats.....

Umm...not all LRM boats hangout in the rear. I doubt you're gonna target the LRM boat that's standing next to the King Crab and Mauler. Well, you could but that's your dilemma to deal with...
