They could have just left the normal map running, its not like it requires any input whatsoever...

Because they want the Steam Players to experience the invasion.

It makes sense, i dont see why its even an issue. Its less then 1.5 days at this point....

Maybe there's going to be some kind of announcement about adjusting the timeline? Maybe it won't be year 3050 for the 5th time?

Then again, PGI has probably abandoned the idea of timelines all together, from the looks of it.

I remember Russ wanting to give the MWO a Clan invasion the way they originally envisioned it. But the funny part is, they're probably just going to reset the CW map for the 1000th time without actually providing any kind of lore or context to CW. So most people won't even know there's a Clan invasion going on. It's just going to be a number of random factions in a random sci-fi setting, fighting for no reason. Who's Kerensky and what does he want with Terra?

It's kind of weird to worry about how the first Clan Invasion in MWO didn't live up to people's standards, and then repeat the exact mistake multiple times, by providing a bland gaming experience that doesn't ultimately mean anything to anyone. We're still just fighting for dots on a map, without any kind of context or in-game consequences. If you fight over enough dots, you get a free cockpit item and a custom title. Oh my.

I'm thinking they probably don't want people poking around in there while they reset, and its such a short while anyway.

My hope is that they are resetting the map, but also writing some planet descriptions while they're at it. Maybe after the map reset, we won't be just fighting for non-descriptive planets..

I am looking forward to some major announcements during and post Steam launch or I will be disappointed really.

Two sure things coming very soon are decals and 4 v 4. Both are awesome additions. I hope for some other content announcements though as well.

Honestly I want to be able to walk around the mechbay at the very least like Star Citizen has. That not to hard to add I think. Anything less will not bring the kind of new features that are needed for Mechwarrior Online.

Also pilot character creation.

And no, I recently checked out Star Citizen and its far from ready to be played.

Im guessing its to free up an employee from having to fix problems every 8 hours, so they can focus on steam launch being as smooth as possible

If you are thinking phase 3 is coming early, I guess its possible but that goes against everything Russ said at the last Town Hall

It's one probaly of the easy canned solutions.

If PGI does anything they will always try to go with the idea which requires the most minimal effort.

As we all experienced this th last couple months, if not practically a full year.

Lack of interest most likely.

I was hoping for 4v4 for the galaxy map reset. It seems unlikely at this point, but I can't help but wonder if this means they will reset the galaxy map yet another time when 4v4 is implemented.

Spoiler alert but as a guess only I think its being added like any day now maybe. :) I think its a game changer and is way more awesome than most think it will be. A whole different pace to this game for one. It is almost getting into duel territory for another. It adds a whole new dimension to the Star Map for another.

But like my reply above says, MechWarrior Online is completely ignoring the warrior part of the games name and its getting to be a very long time to ignore such a huge part of any half feature complete game

but I don't think these 3 days will entirely change the map, and when it launches WITH steam, the truly new steam players will anyways not have a prper dropdeck to truly make a difference.

If anything I fear they see clanner terrain being very small and make them join a "strong" faction which probably floods more newbies to the Houses.

It's one of the underlying reasns why i am retiring. It's not to bash PGI or anything but they cant seems to think further then their noses. Steam release smells like closed/open beta all over again while alot of respected players if not said already that this game is in their current state not ready for Steam. Yet they shove it down our throats. The on-going balance attempts of extreme short phases is just something i get dissppointed about. Full rebalance in a couple of days. Insane, it's like they wanted to skip a small balance adjust every two weeks and gain even more close to reasonable balance.

Everything they have done so far is in my opinion too little, too baked- half finished and minimum effort just to please some enough people to see it as progress.

HBS is something i am very excited about because of their experience. Experience is what PGI doesnt have. Apart from the basegsame and art, MWO is a great game. The rest is just shallow, stagnant, stale and just a empty shill around it.

Russ Said on Twitter that he wanted a Fresh CW map for all the new players that were going to be joining the fight. Map will be reset come Friday. Not that, that means much for Clan Ghost bear.

My guess is that PGI is currently bringing extra servers online, tweaking them, and making sure they're ready for Steam release. Not having CW running makes it easier to keep on top of maintenance during this time.

My completely unreasonable hope is they are resetting it and installing the Wave 3 stuff that's been promised for so long....

What would be great imo for CW is longer attack cycles between ceasefire, planetary information, bonusses for planets with lore-specific location of mech production (c-bill bonus) or lore specific strategic locations (loyalty boost).

This three things are not complex programming stuff, just easy but time intensive writeing. Should have been in since day one.

especially since according to these forums CW is bad and nobody plays it anyhow.....

It's probably the first step before they shut down the servers then run off with our money. Posted Image

Better to ask what the popular questions from Steam players will be. Among the Top 10 I expect, "Why do planets have no value?" and, "Why are capitals unable to be fought over?"

Maybe they've updated/upgraded it! Maybe they made planets mean something! Maybe they made attack lanes that focus more players onto an active planet and allow clan v clan and IS v IS! Perhaps AI integration!? Maybe they... they... oh who am I kidding...?
