Axeman and a kintaro. 2 well armored mechs that are very lethal infighters.

I was thinking exactly the same thing!

Flashman and Hatchetman.

Flashman has some long-range capability with it's LLasers, and anything that gets too close will be flamer'd and DFA hatchet'd.

Can you specify which Solaris arena as that would be a huge influence to which mechs you would want to pick?

The 3017 variant

NSR-9SS - Originally developed for use in the arenas of Solaris VII, the 9SS is produced by Norse-Storm. The long-range weaponry of the 9J is removed and replaced with an Ultra Autocannon/20 and an LB-X Autocannon/20. The two guns are each incredibly powerful at short range, enabling the 9SS to obliterate enemies incredibly quickly. Three tons of ammunition for each ensure that this variant of the Nightstar has some staying power. A half of a ton of armor is removed to make way for three jump jets, enabling the 9SS to vault up to ninety meters at a time so that it can more effectively bring its autocannons to bear. Three Medium Pulse Lasers back up the autocannons and provide the only firepower should they run out of ammunition. Also of note is the loss of both lower arm and hand actuators to make space for the weapons and equipment fielded

That one would work too. It's my second favorite variant. The dual gauss and ppc main variant that never overheats is my first choice. Guess it depends on the opponent.

I am seconding the four Urbanmechs lance.

Alternatively: A Hunchback, a Javelin, and a Whitworth as fire support.

I could even settle on a Guillotine and a TrenchBucket.

MSK-9H, 2 PPCs, 1 AC 20, and a pair of MLs covered by 19 tons of armor.

Well that or the mech that temporarily made me the absolutely undisputed champ of Solaris in megamek the EMP-6A a true lord of the battlefield.

Alongside the Mackie I would bring a Locust 1vb and the Emperor a Javelin 11a.

6 Locucts combined have the firepower of your average house plant. Now, if you house-rule packing them with explosives...

Jenner and a Jagermech. Jagermech hammers at long range, Jenner runs around tripping people up or shooting them in the back as the Jager pounds their facehole and a Mercury for running interference

For the techies, it's a JM6-DG Jagermech, a MCY-98 Mercury, and a standard JR7-D Jenner
