I don't understand why anybody would want to do this...
Mack had a beautiful rant about this in one of his videos, back in 2013. Probably his best video. I can't find it now, maybe he deleted it.
Basically, his rant was about the fact that people were moaning at him from bringing Stalker LRM boats, back when the Stalker was new. People felt that assault mechs shouldn't be played like that, and the Stalker LRM boat was particularly cheesy (and effective).
Mack's response was basically "I want role warfare and I like to play artillery. Modern battlefields have artillery. Deal with it." Which is a really excellent argument, both because battlefields do indeed have artillery, and Battletech in particular has fire support mechs that are specifically designed to rain down missiles from afar. So there is precedent, no matter how you look at it.
If people think it's boring, that's alright. Each to their own. And besides, MWO is all about trying many different builds anyway.
If you feel LRMs are too easy to use, like Clan Streaks, then I understand your argument.
If people think LRM boats or LRM boating assaults aren't viable, it just demonstrates they have no clue what they're talking about. LRM boats are still great in MWO, except in a few particular situations, such as matches involving the most elite MWO players, and CW matches against experienced units with meta laservomit builds. In other words, LRM boats are perfectly viable in the pug queue, 99% of the time. It's also pretty great in the group queue, if you can stay away from the biggest and best groups.
Elite players have spread this notion that LRM boats are crap in MWO, because they don't work at the highest levels of play. The latter may very well be true, but it doesn't change the fact that LRM boats are really, really powerful in most public matches and 99% of all pug matches.
The build in the OP isn't completely optimized, it could probably lose Artemis, but it's going to be a devastating build in the right hands. ECM has been nerfed, very few people are bringing AMS, unless they can bring dual or triple AMS, which is still fairly rare. The inability to alphastrike is unimportant, that's not how you play LRM boats anyway. You only alphastrike in situations where you have a tiny window of opportunity and heat doesn't matter. If it's going to be a longer exchange of fire, you fire your LRMs in pairs or chain fire them to avoid ghost heat. It's not complicated.
TL;DR: Most people don't know what they're talking about.
