I agree that he responds on twitter, just commenting on the false claim that -players drove PGI away from the forums- they were never here to begin with.

to the twitterverse we go

Well, he's responsive to people who don't come across combative and rude on twitter, don't badger, etc.

Which would disqualify most BitterVets, since they seem to feel entitled to alway act highly contemptuous.

brought it up to russ on twitter and he said he'd ask Monday, the arms would be an easy tweak but the head is likely not possible

You never know, he might like it. (Russ, not the Warhammer, you mech abusers!)

Its too bulky. The concept art looks freakin awesome, this just looks like a mess. I thought this was going to be a nice slimmer mech than what they had been doing for Inner Sphere. Looks a lot like a thunderbolt that did arm day every day. Not fan of the in game model this time around. But at this point in development i doubt they'll make any adjustments. So looks like i'm stuck with an ugly looking mech.

The Warhammer's arms were always straight and the Hellbringers always splayed out a little in keeping with Clan style.

The blockiness of MWO's WHM is keeping in line with MWO's styling. They've done it to all their mechs. At least the WHM is more in line with the BT WHM than the MAD is.

but gotta agree - those PPC's look pissweak front on or side on

Agreed there. It should have the arms about how they are. But yeah they could have made the PPC barrels bigger. Still like the in-game model alot, like the Lokis/ Hellbringers older brother.

There's a difference in those photos....both schematics are at rest, arms hanging straight down. Even the Hellbringer..it's armpits jut, then the arms drop. Note in the Mechlab..the HBR's arms splay. Also, I can pull up reams of "official" Battletech art with the Warhammer showing it's arms splayed. Because the straight down look makes it look very stiff and crabbed. At least in the Schematic, it had slim upper arms, which worked OK with the stiffness... with these huge RIPPED shoulders bi/tris on the PGI version? It looks LUDICROUS.

It looks like a constipated bodybuilder trying to flex his traps while jogging. And looks even worse when it actually IS moving, because of how stiff it looks.

Honestly I'm happy I didn't pre-order the mech. But it makes me scared shitless about the Archer. I want that baby so badly but if they screw up on it the way they've now done with the Warhammer, Enforcer (entire mech, sweet jesus, another cockpit failure too, original was beautiful and unique), and the Vindicator (THAT MISSILE TORSO, WHHYYYYY?!?!?!), it may actually finally make me quit if they care so little about the mech models.

Its another reason I'm getting extremely annoyed with these 3 month early adopter pre-orders. Sure you can get a bunch of bonuses, but when things like this happen a month before release? They were doing so well on both the models and patches too, and now they've gone and screwed up the Warhammer's face and arm angle (a few body proportions though those are minor and don't really ruin the mech for me, general aesthetic is still there overall) as well as skewed power creep to the IS again after implementing an unfinished balancing patch. (long series of PTS sessions my butt, they did 1 for these quirk changes and patched it in) Its better than some of the previous quirkenings, but still needs help...

Back to the Warhammer...it just...I guess I could live with the cockpit, its not too far off from the original, just...its different and noticeably so. The arm angle is definitely a need though, its just horrible. Might possibly make the mech acceptable.

A month before release, can still be tweaked, Even said the animation in the sneak peek was just the basic animations. I've Already lit up his twitter yesterday, so for best effect needs to be someone else. Can't be all me, all the time,

Actually it should be. Russ needs to start listening to you as a community liaison because you echo practically everything the community has a problem with. Especially the mech models... They seriously need to just send you a screenshot and go "Hey Bishop, how's this look?" I guarantee it would have avoided both the Enforcer fiasco and Vindicator side torso, as well as this Warhammer backfire.

Maybe, but there are folks who also strongly disagree with me. I think my bigger attribute is knowing how much and when to push, more than anything.

Like right now...Russ is already going to look into the WHM tomorrow at work with the modeler. It may or may not be too late to change the head, arms probably can get rigged.

But at this point, all more poking and prodding will do, is become irritating... and make Russ less likely to want to work with us. It's a two edged sword.... and before anyone complains about it, let's be honest...the more people badger and cajole ANYONE of us? The less helpful we become.

We are at a good point with the constructive criticism now, it's time to let the cards fall, and make future decisions based off of that.

not a bad looking mech, but doesn't seem like a warhammer to me. It's hard to really put my finger on what's wrong with it, but the close in arms are definitely off.

I think kapusta11 was able to pinpoint exactly what was off.

Its pretty much spot on. Just a minor difference in the CT proportion and the arm angle makes a HUGE difference in the look of the mech.

well the entire torso got mildly compressed, though the CT more so. But yeah.. what a difference.

I donno. I kinda like the taller cockpit. Especially in combination with the altered flared out arms. The arms definitely look better flared out like in the photoshop, but it kinda looks like the face got smashed in with a hammer. Put the original head assembly and the modified arm alignment together and you get a nice inverted V pattern going on with the design lines.

Ahhhh aesthetics. Ask two people what they think and get three answers. :D
