I'm currently on an i7 with 8gig of RAM and a Geforce 770 all on Windows 10 and I never drop below 60FPS.
My PC is middle of the road these days. Not top tier. If you're going to upgrade save it so you can go top of the line. Don't get something that's incremental... or you know... buy cheap, buy twice.
Are you guys on potatoes? D:

When I first DL'ed this game I had a solid 90fps and 50fps in fights on max settings with my 760sc and i5-4670k but now it hangs at 86fps and 40fps in fights.
All my other games still runs a solid 60+fps on high or ultra so I know it isn't my gpu/cpu.
PGI needs to hire a group to look through and clean up the code and maybe hire them to put the c-ac's into lbx's as swappable ammo type.

Specs for it
Windows 7 64bit
i7 Q720 1.6ghz
12 GB ram
Radeon mobility 5870 4GB memory
1600x900 resolution
1 iffy fan, the other might or might not work right, and it is probably a good 5 or 6 years old at this point. I'm honestly surprized at times it runs the game at all.
Just for a reference point as well.

16GB DDR3 2133Mhz
EVGA GTX 770 Superclocked
Samsung Evo 840 120GB SSD for OS and Game
Windows 10 Pro
Mixture of medium, high, and very high settings running 1920x1200
I get FPS anywhere between 20 and 100+ FPS. It really is all over the place and I would have to run FRAPs with it's benchmarking tool again to get average numbers but if I had to guess I would say 40-50 FPS
My PC is far from a potato and I'm usually one of the first few loaded into matches as well. I exceed the recommended system requirements and I don't think I should ever see dips below 30, let alone 20 in CW.

4GB DDR2 800Mhz
Gigabyte Silent Cell 5770 1Gb
regular hdd
Vista 64bit.
Disabling HUD gives minimum 10fps right off the start, even more.
playing with 1080p and have almost constantly below 30fps with mechs around. 20fps average in battle I think.
Looking at scenery I can have 40-50fps.
Community warfare is worse . I average 15-25 I think.

my laptop well over suggested spec and it runs like crap . . .
I run game with much higher spec requirements at over twice the frame rate .
You lost all credibility when you said "laptop". Gaming laptop is an oxymoron!

System Specs:
WIn 7 64bit
Core I7 920: 3.8ghz
6 gig DDR3 ram
AMD HD7970 3gigs
10,000 RPM Western Digital Sata3 drive
Asus VG248QE -144hz monitor
Latest Drivers
Game Settings
1920x1080
DX9
Cockpit Glass and Damage Glow disabled
All settings low except for texture resolution and object detail, set to high
Performance:
Original Maps: 55-60FPS
New Maps: 30-55FPS
This is terrible performance as I consider 60fps and below "slow" looking. I would like to see 80fps+ on higher settings. In an Ideal world, the game could run at 120-144hz consistently as that provides the best control and visuals.

Windows 10
Gtx 980 sli and without sli. (Performs better without sli as there is no support for it as far as i know)
1080p res
Max settings on everything except shadows which is on medium.
Fps average from 35ish -60ish.
Brawling gets to 35ish.
Ranged combat around 50ish -60ish
Wtf my card is nearly three years older than yours and I play in 2560*1440 with the same fps as you. Everything on very high except shadows at medium like you. Motion blur on low. PostAA/FXAA
I7 3770K

Carmack said 90fps stereo = 250fps normal
MWO got a long way to go there
sigh
man if there's any game that actually needed DX 12 (or hell vulcan, don't really care which, though crytek is nvidia/DX) then its MWO
sigh
still hoping for a Skylake with some eDram before I make the switch (and for those DDR4 4000 ram prices to go down a bit more)
man that would be something

you're i7 is clocked at 4Ghz, maybe it boosts higher
my i5 3450 is clocked at 4.1 Ghz, 16gb ram, gtx 780 @2560x1080
without knowing your settings I would say I fare the same
only way to have good fps (means above 80) is having particles down and everything else that could bother the cpu
but hey at least in testing grounds I can do 200fps+

eh Far Cry 4 runs with everything on ultra nicely, even hairworks and TXAA

MWO is more CPU limited than GPU limited
DX11 and 9 don't make very good use of multi cores and love strong IPC, means love intel
in MWO terms
you could run 4 GTX980ti or Fury cards and would get worse fps than using only one card

I am building a new desktop with my bare hands in mid-January. Hopefully, the best graphic cards are cheaper then.
Looking to spend a bit more than 2k not including SSD or monitors as I have them already.
Can't wait to get revenge on all you fast computer owners.

Can of compressed air, clean out heatsinks. May need to look into reapplying thermal paste and do a thorough internal clean of interior. If dont have, get a laptop cooler.
Disable Turbo Boost, setting it around 97% instead of listed 99% in the following link.
Disabling Intel Turbo Boost - Tautvidas Sipavičius
Use Speedfan to take control of fans, if possible.

Here is a link to my forum topic: http://mwomercs.com/...-gpu-usage-low/
There are some things you can put in a user.cfg file to change things that helps a little that Goose posted.

I have the same setup and the same problems. If you fire point blank at a rock with lasers the particle effects on ultra than the FPS can tank down into the single digits. It's really stupid considering I can play Witcher 3 on Ultra at a solid 50-60 FPS and that's a far, FAR prettier game.
What makes it even worse is that I spent $2k upgrading from my AMD 1090 + 6970 hoping for a massive improvement in FPS, but instead barely got any improvement.

Maybe hold back a content patch for a week or two but push the Performance up as high as it can get, seeing my decent rig dwindel at MW:O on lowest setting possible is far from optimal in my opinion.
To sum up my thoughts: The smoother the gaming experience the more likely it is for someone to stay and play , pls put some more affort in the performance PGI - I do not doubt you guys are trying to make MW:O a great game but i feel we need some better fps across the board before getting more mechs.
If anyone has thoughts on that matter pls speak up ^^
Something interesting came up when I read through this thread; so I did a little experiment.
It seems that there are people with similar specs that have varying FPS; from slideshows to no problem at all.
I did a test with V-Sync turned on and off. Although there have been debates on whether V-Sync help in tearing and such, I realized turning V-Sync off did the following;
1) My lowest FPS and highest FPS is higher on average than with V-Sync turned on.
2) My graphics card temperature either stayed the same or increases about 5 to 8% with V-Sync turned on.
I experimented on a duo and quad core CPU system and having V-Sync turned off usually means higher FPS on average.
I suggest players that have very bad FPS to leave FPS turned off if your system is able to tolerate the 5 to 8% increase in temperature in the graphics core.
