This is EASY to compensate for...
If you see your map or mode, VOTE. If you don't get it, you get a multiplier.
If your map or mode is not an option, DON'T VOTE! You will not lose your multiplier.
Eventually, you WILL get your map or mode. It'll either get voted for or your multiplier will get high enough and force it.
Eventually doesn't really cut it. If I have to play through 8 games of a mode I do not like or want to play I'm going to be far too frustrated to actually enjoy the game when I get the mode I actually want to play. Then of course I end up having to repeat the process. It just isn't a good system for people that don't like certain modes. As for maps they should have remained random entirely.

Like everything else around here PGI tried the "random" mode select option and the Hissy Fits outweighed any reasonable response by the Community so they rescinded it and are now trying a Vote based system.
The reasons for the Vote system have been explained and yet the hissy fits continue. So "No" to random modes and now No to a Vote system. Wtf is PGI supposed to do now. Put in 3 different game/mode selection Options so that every hissy fitter can have their own?
How about they put it back to the way it was? Then in an attempt to get people to select all game modes perhaps they should actually put in a little effort and make all of the game modes into something most actually want to play instead of forcing them to play them?

Being only concerned about "yourself" and what "you" want is great and all but what about the other 56 players of MWO?..

Lets not pretend that it is only one side that is being selfish here. Complaining about wait times and demanding others play all of the game modes regardless of their enjoyment so you can find a game 20 seconds faster is pretty damn selfish as well. So forgive me for not finding that complaint very convincing.
