I had a different ign but used this one 6 or 7 years ago. I just wanted a memorable ign that wasn't too pretentious or try hard. It's not common or anything, so it's always available in any game I start playing.

I vaguely recalled my parents always watching X-Files. It wasn't until about 2 or 3 years ago that I actually watched X-Files in sequence. Yes, it's spelled wrong. Still, I don't get how people read it and pronounce it as "mole-door"

What really urks me is that one time I went to sign up for a game, and somebody had used this name. I'm not saying I'm a special snowflake or anything, but I feel there was a chance of them seeing me in a different game and using it as their own.

Might have to check them out, don't watch tv, so still go old school with real paper. That sounds familiar though.

Yeah you should. I didn't see the book as new print tho, only on the used market. Maybe it's a little too surreal for most raders :D

Braxton is my name

The Lord title comes from an RTS background, where one is always in command

The first time I played AD&D in the late 80's we used a random name generator (a handful of 20-sided dice for consonants and 6-siders for vowels) to name my thief/wizard. I set fire to a forest, accidentally dropped a burning tree on a companion, looted his body while everyone else fought the giant caterpillars that made me freak out and cast Burning Hands in the middle of a forest, and afterwards the party thanked me for recovering Murlynd's Magical Spoon and some of our other supples which he was carrying. I may have forgotten to mention the valuables I recovered as well. I was a thief, after all. It remains one of the most epic RPG sessions of my gaming career.

The names 9breaker, and Leos Kleine; were already taken so I tried soldier 90 times.
Coincidentally 91 happens to be my MOS series.

When I was a kid I was known by many different identifiers because A) my neighborhood had several boys having the same name as me, so parents gave us each different nicknames and B) because I had a very odd last name. As I grew older I acquired yet another set of identifiers, including "Bud". When I discovered RPG's in the early 80's a friend created a character for me which had several of my various names strung together as a sort of tribute and ended in "...Bud Crue. The "Crue" was intended to be reference to the various preceding names being a motley crew, but spelled incorrectly because we were stupid 10 year olds, and because "Motley Crue" the band).

When I first started playing Mechwarrior Two my callsign was 'Black Rose' after my Timberwolf. Years later when I took up online gaming I found that name already largely taken so I switched to BloodRose and that has been me ever since.

Oh haha, now I sort of feel like an *** for trolling. I didn't think anyone actually read these.
Pretty close I suppose if I tried the alphabetical part with it might of been destined.

Lost the e-mail address to my old account from a while back. Was in sort of a mech smash mood at the time I decided to try this again on a whim so didn't put much thought into it.

Mine is my Ojibawa name.

It was given to me near 30 years ago by an Indian I met while camping. He had just become a grandfather and, according to him, that allowed him to bestow a name on a person.

It's thankfully a rarely-used name, so it's permanent for me.

I'm in the same boat here, no one wants to misspell 'mutilated' even if they think of this name. Although people often misread as 'multi' for some reason, and I'm usually just 'banana'.

When I was 15 I made an account on a web browser game back on AOL 4.0 I wanted a unique name that no one would have and meant nothing except to me. I played around with a vowels and consonants till I settled on Xetelian.

I had been waiting to change my name for years now, and now I finally got to change it.

So where did this new name come from? Most of the names I had in mind were taken, and the ones that weren't didn't sit right with me. At some point I started looking into bird names such as the Goshawk or Falcon, but those were taken too. But then I remembered the Focke-Wulf Fw 190 "Würger". Würger meaning Shrike, which in turn is derived from the Latin word for butcher. Obviously that was taken, but for some reason, I decided to put my favorite color; red, in front of it. And voila, it wasn't taken.

So, just like my previous name, it can refer to either one of two things; Red Focke-Wulf Fw 190, or Red Butcher. Which, when I think about it, sounds like a fancy nickname for a mechwarrior, so I got that going for me which is nice.
