A nonet about the battletech cartoon:

Somerset, the birthplace to Adam
It's where he trained and became strong
The talons descended there
He knew what he needed
He defied the odds
And won that day
Then saw it
Fall to
Jade

Wrote this in the other thread that got moved+locked - it's a limerick.

There once was some mercs from outreach,
Whose mechs were so tough they would not breach.
The clanners -- they shot
to pierce but could not
And they earned many c-bills for each.

In the current year, 3049, a young and ambitious farmer makes a gamble with his savings (and a loan from the bank) on a brand new piece of equipment that just hit the market:

HVR-99 it says on the manual
A great step forward for my farm
Really have been looking forward to this moment
Vigoursly climb into the seat
Eager to turn that key
She starts up just as I had hoped
The season ahead will be good
Even the grain wont know what hit 'em
Ready for anything, with a 10 year warranty

A Warrior should know when to fight, and when to withdraw.

Hope speaks a language, yet we still must open our minds to hear her, then ignore the lies Weakness speaks, for her words mimics Hope's.

The lights are nimble and quick
The mediums too but more punch
The heavies is where it really gets sick
But assaults are the best of the bunch

Autocannon throw all size of slug
Lasers come in every possible color
Missiles -- they're like my drug
And I fit them all on my Mauler

There's hover, track and wheel
There's biped, LAM and quad
All that's left will be twisted steel
Because I am the war god.

P.S.

Poetry is fricken hard, man.

Wolves
25 April 2012

Let the bird fly if it wants.
Let the bird sing if it wants.
The wolf sits patiently waiting.
The wolf has begun its hunt.
Its pack is near.
You hear one howl, then two.
Now you hear our symphony as we strike.
We are that which you never saw.
We are the wolves howling at your door!

Raven's Response

Let the wolves howl.
Packs gathered beneath the trees worry me not.
My home is the starry night.
My wings carry me aloft in silence till I choose to speak.
My eyes spot the wolves that stray from the pack.
My voice bring the hunters to cull the weak.
Death has always followed behind my wings.

Let's see if the brave wolf does any better than the wily coyote when it comes to chasing birds.

Goals Met By Fulfillment

As the Wolf hunted,

The Pack stalked, hunger drives Them,

Fear billows desire

I like doing poetry because it makes me feel like I'm a little kid again back in 3rd grade. I haven't improved much since 3rd grade either.
An epigram:

The noob cries, 'why no madcat'
stickies and faqs are beyond him

another--

The axe rises
cockpits roll

Road To Perdition

Founded on the Desperation's need.

This Mercenary unit caused trouble at Want's desire.

Their families destroyed, as well as common satisfactions, common pleasures.

To the man, none saved hope in basket or thought.

Vengeance was their divergence, their thread, their road.

Founded on Desperation's need, then, continued at Want's desire.

Q.T.

Quick Trigger rocks, slamming the tick-tock tap dance, fire.... fire.... fire....

Almost down, you too slow... Let me shoot your buddy

Free lance moves, sweet Lance dance moves, death from above love grooves, spinning/grinning, fire.... fire.... fire....

Quick to fall though, next? Buddy? boom/gone

Smashed, flashed, weapons first, armor last, last a moment, linger, while I give this Raven the stringer, fire... fire... fire...

Dinger! ding ding ding! Raven down!!! Clown.

Hoot, shout, voip gone wild! We just beat the man/his crew, clean styles, clean moves, with a fire.... fire.... fire....

Good work fellas, nice moves Quick Trigger, you want the open leadership slot?

Dirty Poem

The sequoia tree is a majestic, a true Atlas of Trees.

A forest of these giants spread like Mercenaries, well paid. Over shadowing all but the clouds and sky.

You my friend, are not like these majestic powerful entities, except in one way, be it shallow or a greater depth.

When the death gives its cold comfort of the grave, in the grave, sincerely grave, once for all, at the least, truth I speak.

When the dead seed is dropped, placed, never tasted, held, not wasted, contained in its own grave.

A grave of life, supplier of all green things, these eaters of soil, pillagers of its nutrients.

Yet you have hope, despite this, for what is this globe without you?

What mighty tree can persist, how could survive even a windbag linguist? Let alone an Atlas Pilot, without you my friend.

Yes everyone's pal.

On bedrock or in a pail, the floor of an old cabin, an ancient lawman's jail, ye "Lettuce prey", ye which art below our every step, the dust in a plowman's lungs, the grime upon his face. On thee doth rest the human race!!!

I honor thee Dirt by another name, soil by any other, poet? comrade? brother? Lettuce Prey! amen....

This is a poem about a skilled and experienced Mechwarrior named Volotok.

The enemy crests their hill
Shots fired, he tears the foes
At a flash things Can turn bad
He knows where his exit is
No way he'll die here

The Real Poem, by Ray Bradbury.....

Crystal water turns to dark
Where ere it's presence leaves it's mark
And boiling currents pound like drums
When something wicked this way comes...

A presence dark invades the fair
And gives the horses ample scare
Chaos rains and panic fills the air
When something wicked this way comes...

Ill winds mark it's fearsome flight,
And autumn branches creak with fright.
The landscape turns to ashen crumbs,
When something wicked this way comes...

Flowers bloom as black as night
Removing color from your sight
Nightmarish vines block your way
Thorns reach out to catch their prey

And by the pricking of your thumbs
Realize that their poison numbs
From frightful blooms, rank odors seep
Bats & beasties fly & creep

'Cross this evil land, ill winds blow
Despite the darkness, mushrooms glow
All will rot & decompose
For something wicked this way grows...

clark, asimov, heinlein, herbert,

another great artist of our time passes.

even if his writing was not your style,

you know he was one to be remembered.
