There's plenty of info about the game. This 'blind marriage' thing you are talking about is nonsense.

how do you figure it is off until you actually experience it you can read hype, descriptions, and watch videos all day but that doesnt mean much look at diablo 3

Well as I see it, buying the $60 Elite is not much different then going to the store and buying a game in a box, Legendary is a bit over the top but some of us are just nuts.

so im just wondering what made you guy buy a founders pack before you even tried the game ive played plenty of the series but a mmo is a completely different animal. However i understand if you buy the founders thing you get stuff and access but are you sure its worth it before even playing the game? In my opinion its like getting married before going on your first blind date.. she could be fat she could be a hill billy missing teeth could even not even be a woman who knows. So what made you confident in your purchase?

It's not like a blind date, we've seen it via video and pictures. We've done everything but play with it. In fact, it's a lot like getting married without sleeping together first. A poor proposition in life (IMO), but in this case, meh it's only $60.

I have played League of Legends for over two years now and have spent exactly $0 on it. I have already bought Legendary Founder in this game and have played it exactly 0 times. I wanted to support the IP and as soon as I heard there was a MW game and I read what it was about and their goals I was already considering donating to support it even before they had the options. This way I just got some perks out of it.

Shrug. If I read articles about a game, and I'm interested in it, I normally buy it. Its not as if I let IGN or gamespot reviews make my choice for me. I've checked out the faqs, pdf primer, youtube vids, etc. Game looks like fun, so I bought it. Never done the F2P before. And it's not an MMO.

hate to break it to you it is a mmo definition of mmo is massive multiplayer online game at no point did i say mmorpg

It might not fit the definition of an MMORPG but I bet alot of Role Playing gets done once it all kicks off. B)

I have played a few different mechwarrior games, 12 years ago until now and have never played one that was a flop, some better than others and by looking at the videos and the DEV interview about what they are trying to accomplish this is going to be a hit for a long time!

Worth the money for what you get, READY TO ROCK B)

I have been following this game since the youtube release of the first teaser mechwarrior video....BUT as in the past, if I am going to play a game I go all in, good or bad, some have been regretfull some not so. I am hoping not so in this case and to have alot of fun. I support games anyway I can if they are really good. Plus this is Battletech, what is there not to like?

i bought SWTOR collectors edition and stoped playing after 3 month, I got StarTrekOnline "lifetime" but after 6 month i also stoped
I guess this isnt much differant, at least i got premium for 3 month ^^B)
The bonuses on the Mechs had an impact too

i have been waiting for the game for a long time. That being said, learning the game was ftp made me want to make sure i at least supported the development how i could. While i'm not obligated to help, i like mechwarrior a lot. I intend to make sure they are able to continue the game as much as i can. The mechs did not hurt my decision either, i want to try every mech i can get my hands on.

This matches my thoughts quite well. Except for mechs, I'm not too hyped about the mechs we get, I'd probably have chosen different light, medium and heavy mech if I could.

I actually think Elite Founders package had much better value than Legendary, but I just wanted support the company as much as possible. That said, that's all I intend to spend in the lifetime of this game (which I hope is very long). It's free to play after all.

but if you want to put it in a semantic kind of point of view it would fit in the mmorpg category as well because you are assuming the role of a mech pilot fighting over whatever the back story for the reason your fighting the other players. I understand that alot of people dont like being put in the mmorpg playing nerd stereotype.

been a battletech fan for 24 years.
been waiting for this type of game for 10 or so years.
120 bucks is not a issue for something like this.

2 Reasons.. but the key reason is this.

Support. The. Product.

The more money that any Battletech product makes, the more support and chances new content receives in the future.

The other reason? The bonus to founder mechs, and that I plan to be playing this game for a very long time.

Well, for one, because of the value. I'm getting 200+ dollars worth of game items and time for half of what it will cost at launch time, early access to a game I've followed since it was first looking for shareholders, and four mechs which will be unique to founders, take up no prime slots, and gives me C-Bill and EXP Bonuses.

For two, MechWarrior has always been in my heart. I played MW2 until the CD was destroyed. I played Mw4 and MW4:Mercs up until Microsoft officially pulled all support for the game's multiplayer server list.

I believe in this game. It's waxing nostalgic for me.

my resons are:
i bought every mechwarrior game since mw2. (except mech assault, i don´t own a console)
i would have spend 47€ on the next mechgame anyway, regardless of what kind of (and maybe even what quality of) the mechgame would have been.
i liked what i saw from the game.
i like to support the developer for making a game like mwo - if, and thats one of the main resons, the game does not become a money grab pay to win. they stated again and again that this won´t happen, and i´ll believe them. pay 2 advance around 50% faster is still fine with me.

i´m still considering an upgrade to legenday, but i don´t have the money right now to risk spending 100€ on a game i basically don´t have a clue of.

I used to have a few books from the tabletop RPG, played some of the old games on PC and I read the info and watched the videos on this site and was impressed. I have never seen any company put such attention and care into the developement of a game besides the Halo franchise. It certainly deserves my $60 which is the measly cost of any other game and might even earn another $60 for the Legendary.
