I bought it because I have a full-time job, Im a grownup, and 120$ is a small investment for what will at least be several months worth of entertainment. if you are a kid living at home, I would suggest spending your money on something else.

I have always loved Mechwarriror (Roleplaying and computer) and Battletech (Minature and Computer). The thought of getting 4 Mechs and also haeing my name listed as a founder really appealed to me.

MechWarrior 2: 31st Century Combat was the first computer game I had on "my" computer, I have had family computers from the 80's, but when I went to college i got my own computer and it was the first game I owned myself. It was such a fantastic game that I bought every expansion released and continue to purchase Mechwarrior games to this day.

I played in the 2000 Beta version of this type of game, Multiplayer BattleTech: 3025. I know they will be different, but the core concept is "online" Mechwarrior. I would have gladly paid $120 if they told me they were going to take it down, to kept it running. Since it was still in beta, it felt like the they just flipped the switch without any real explanation (Hate EA games). Major bummer, I have been playing every Mechwarrior game since, hoping someone would realize the demand was there. So when the game I would have paid to keep running is remade with current day technology and some added benefits provides an early adopter program I jump in with both feet.

I think it is safe to say, the demand has been realized, we have to be close to 10,000 legendary founders. I think we were in the 9,000 several weeks ago.

Anyways those are my reasons

I have been playing MechWarrior for a VERY long time. I LOVE the game, always have since tabletop. I pre-ordered a few games recently that left me wonder what I had got and sit on a shelf as wasted money. To me the chance to be in on ground floor of MechWarrior, the nice little tag to show my love for the game, and the free mechs and c-bils won me over...lol. So to me its as simple as loving a game and pre-ordering a game I know I will like.

I bought the legendary package. I did it because I want to see the game development continue and I want to see its success (of course the thank you perks are nice too ) . I think I am one of the vast majority that would say this game has been too long in coming as far as MW was concerned. I mean how many of you were dragged from mechwarrior retirement to play this game? I was. I missed it.

I guess the point I make is that I believe in Piranha for taking the chance on something that should have never died. I believe they are doing a fantastic job. Imo I think they made the right decision returning to the PC to develop MWO as well.

First of all, I'm a spaniard and my english is mid-level (I'm not lying, I have first intermediate level!!).

I've been a fan of the Battletech franchise since I was 8 years old, 20 years after I am only at about 20 days to play a true mechwarrior game. I'm from Spain, and as many of you could know, the economic situation here is not so good, mine is not much better. But I still value a good job and much more if it's from a such beloved franchise like the Battletech universe. So, I supported it as much as I could.

I never buy videogames, at least if I'm a big fan of them (The Witcher and Baldur's Gate for example) and I buy them more as a "colectable" object, rather than a "consumable" thing. You can call me pirate or something like this, but I don't mind, more than the half of the games I played doesn't worth even the half of the retailer price, I think if videogames had a reallistic price, there where much less piracy and p2p sharing (this is not piracy), but you can say "then, what the hell are you doing by paying 120$ for a game wich is not even released?" I would say " In the XXXI century, Life is cheap, a battlemech is not".

Well dunno if this was posted already but, your own name in the credits? hell yeah :D
Btw, welcome everyone. Especially from House Devion! I'm Newbie here

For me, I am going to buy legendary, to show my support for the product! And because Robot Jox was the film I grow up with :P
Anyway who would not want to be a mech pilot? For that opportunity I am going to pay

I couldn't find a reason why not. It's an odd debate for MWO..if you can afford the computer that can run MWO properly, I'm sure you can afford Founders

My reason. Easy, got into beta, paid 120$ instantly. This game will rock!

nostalgia. Battletech was one of my first MMO's I played on the internet in the mid 90s. Always loved the series and universe, though I never paid much attention to the actually dynamics of it. Since its a F2P game I figured I might as well as go big or go home and just buy the Legendary.

Why do people pay for those kickstarter projects? You hear what the project will be about and hope for the best.

That game is quite interesting and I search a new F2P MMO, World of Tank disapoint me more and more and World of Warplane will be worst.

I search information about this game, read and watch the gameplay.

And I felt in love with MW. ;)

That's why I finnally said:

Dev => But sir, the game isn't finished yet...
Me => SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!

I've had an account for a long time and stalked the forums for about as long, so take this all for what a stalker's word is worth...

I've loved the MW series since I played the original MW game (yes the '89 version) which lead me into BT eventually. When I found out in 2002 that people were talking about aquiring the rights to this I dreamed of helping make the game. Sadly in 2002 I was finishing highschool and not the developer I am today, so the founder program is essentially my way of sponsoring the game I've dreamed of.

OP,
Pre-ordering a game always comes with a bit of risk. I think in this case the risk is very minimal. 120 dollars...thats 80 dollars less than I would spend in one night at a bar (arrive at 9 and leave at 2) so as long as the game provides me with 6 hours of entertainment it was actually cheaper than going out. I didn't even figure in the cab fare =/

Next point, Battle Tech has a long history of having great games tied to it. Given the footage ive seen in the videos and screen shots, this will not be the exception.

Finally Im a long time Battle Tech fan and Ive been talking about this game comming out for years, and now its almost here... how could I resist clicking buy now.

Agreed.

I'll pay pretty much any amount for a game I like. WoT & Eve Online are my other two hobbies. I tired Star Wars Collectors edition, but felt very left down by the game. I am hoping MW can fill the void.

I have been playing Battletech and Mechwarrior since it was an abscure table top game. I have played every Mechwarrior game that has come along. It is only natural that I play this. IT is especially nice because now I can REALLY afford to do it right!!!!! ( I hated the decision, beer or game..... hmmmmm...... game always wins.)
