I just want your opinion on this one, as with the new CoC, what I want to know is if we're really forced to fight to the death of this game.

So, is giving up the fight & asking the other side to kill you so that you can get out of a mismatch against the CoC?

Why not charge in, guns blazing, grabbing as many as you can on your way to Valhalla? I don't really see a point in calling out where you are so you can be slaughtered and not firing other than gaming the match score to lower your tier.

Its a game about fighting each other to the death...

Yes we fight to the death, If you want to hide there are other games for that but no Mechwarrior is not one of them.

Fight for glory or die gloriously fighting....that's the name of the game essentially.

One of these days, I feel like this game's been founded by bloodfrenzied maniacs...

Very well, I've seen enough of this - I'm going to have someone close this book.

That's basically what everyone is already doing while trying to win. You could do exactly that while shooting the enemy without wasting everyones time. So let me ask you, what are you doing ingame right now?

Funny you should ask that, as I'm not in-game right now.

Its common sense really. Should rename CoC to dont be a d**k. You know if you are being a d**k or not. If your intention is to hide for a short time then counter attack, say something. If you intention is to hide the for the sake of a kd ratio then that's is being a d**k.

No it means one you hit launch to join a match your are required to attempt to complete the mission objectives. Don't want to fight to the death choose a mode that has more interesting win conditions.

MWO is a game about mercenaries who, for whatever reason, always fight to the last man and sacrifice their lives selflessly, who always go to battle without any kind of option to retreat or evac. Because that's what mercenaries do, right? Remember the intro for Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries, when all the mercenaries died bravely because they knew they had no chance to win? There was something about a dropship, I forget what it was. It's not important.

Haven't had this much immersion since I played Quake 1 Deathmatch.

Huh? Posted Image

It's giant, stompy walking tanks with insane firepower. There's no gratuitous blood and gore in this game. Just heaped up, smoking, dead mechs.

You fight until you're dropped............rinse, wash, repeat.

Except there are examples given in the CoC where it is acceptable and legitimate to shut down and not engage, if it will help your team win.

Being lame and trying to preserve your K/D or just being a douche isn't though

if you absolutely must preserve your precious KDR, either run out of bounds or overheat and die. There's no reason to waste everybody else's time.
