Might as well... its an old one (lessee, oh around 15 years now)... Growing up in Sri Lanka I was one of the students running the games accounts on our school network. On a side note this was back in the late 90s; they had 3 labs with 30+ computers, something many modern schools in so-called developed nations don't even have today.

I used to code all sorts of little programs/hacks (for quake for example) that my friend Rajiv called the tools of Tom (yes, that would be my first name). I switched it around and started using Tommytools as my handle. Never had any problem with it being taken, so i've never had to take another.

Mine came from my old MW4 days. Originally, it was "KH Starfyr_GUNS", but the registration engine here wouldn`t let me use it  ." _GUNS" was a designation to the core members of out unit, the KellHounds.

When I started playing MW4 online (along time ago), I was part of Draconis Combine. I asked a Japanese friend for a name that was a deadly snake - looking to merge the Japanese influence of the house with the Dragon.

I have used the handle through most of my online gaming since - and it's always fun to catch up with someone from another time and place because they recognise the name.

Looking forward to catching up with them all again soon :)

Letters from my first and last name. Combined them and came up with Astto, its unique, rythms with ******** and by pure fluke turned out to mean something in Greek (Leave it or Leave it alone) which i thought was pretty cool. Now everyone unless i grew up with them calls me Astto. So sometimes i will hear "Oi leave it!" being yelled at me haha.

My name has existed for nigh on twenty years. It was a creation I took some time to create, I wanted something that no one else had yet used. So I decided on a different spelling of psycho-fiend.

Mine's been my gaming 'handle' since the days of arcades and <INSERT COIN TO CONTINUE>; it is apt (I'm good at 'putting myself in the other person's shoes'), obscure (or at least it was at the time), and could easily be shortened to an equally meaningful three-letter abbreviation.

...though I doubt there's any cabinets left out there with high score lists with "EMP" on them anymore... *wistful sigh*

Mine's my old callsign from when I used to play in the pods at Virtual World Pasadena back in the mid to late 90's.

Well technically its the second callsign I had, right before one of the tournaments I was entered in I decided to change it because though I was the frist "pilot" registered with that particular callsign at VW Pasadena other pilots started showing up with the same callsign so it started loosing its uniqueness.

I didn't choose mine. Like some of the forces players above, mine was chosen for me by my friends. I don't know how I first became known as Soviet Alex, but it was during my 1st year at uni. Been Soviet Alex ever since.

I was using the name Skydrive back when halo came to the PC (very surprised when years later SkyDrive was being used for something else), due to how I would often drive the vehicles... namely the warthog, and... well in my book, I never saw anyone as good as me in driving there. I was one of the few, if not the only, that could get away with putting a warthog into this one tunnel, because most people would get it stuck, and block access. The penalty was a kick. As for me, I would drive a hog through that tunnel, and exit in the opponents base, get the flag, drive back the way I came, and score. The sky part was due to... well, lets just say I was rather lucky with how many kills I got from landing ontop of opponents :D.
