Ok, may be Alpine should stay, but then the whole purpose of deleting it now - is to fix it. Because keeping it without fixing - is nonsense, as it's the most unbalanced map in whole game. Team, that is spawned at higher side of the Candy Mountain - has ultimate advantage and if they are not noobs and know, what to do - they'll stomp other team in 99% cases.

This advantage - is direct way to Gold Star. It takes 5 minutes (1/3 of maximum match duration) for Assaults to regroup with their team. Assaults from higher team can support their team, while Assaults from lower team have to play WalkWarrior Online for the whole 5 minutes. Attacking Gold Star from the left for lower team - is suicide, cuz they will be stomped via fire from the ridge, while they will be at open space.

Hiding somewhere at the map and waiting for other team to come - is wasting time. If it takes 5 minutes to get to Candy Mountain, then it would take 10 minutes to get to other team, if it would hide at spawns or somewhere else. Having disadvantage - is better, then just wasting time, cuz it's better to die fast and quit this unbalanced map as fast as possible.

I agree it needs to be fixed, but I don't support the part about dropping games, that's egoistic bs to put it blunt, there are 23 other players in the game so suck it up.

Some simple fix could be enough. Move around the spawns a bit, perhaps rotate the mid mountain by 45 degrees clockwise, add some big rocks and perhaps a crater or some building for cover.

I will enjoy reporting the OP for non-participation. In fact I am reporting this thread right now, for being trash.

I do agree that keeping the map in "as is" is stupid beyond belief. it's a badly designed map with badly placed spawns.

Lower/remove candy mountain and fix spawns then bring it back.

You should understand, that Alpine has so many flaws, that it was easier to create brand new map, instead of fixing it. Do you think, that PGI will invest more resources into it? Do you realize, that we have a chance to replace second worst map in a game now? Do you understand, that if we won't do it now - we'll be stuck with this unbalanced terrible map for ages?

Double standards are so double. "Save Alpine" is not trash, but "Delete Alpine" is. Being selfish and subjective - is so popular on forums.

I just think it is funny that Russ was all "this map is unfair, and so broken it's easier to just make a whole new map than fix it" and people demand it be kept.

They ain't gonna fix the mountain. They will probably move the spawn points though. Will that be enough to salvage this map?

well then one issue for some will still be there.

I don't like said mountain since one team spawns next to it and then the other team fights to get it and the team closer to it have a large field of vision on top and are pretty secure from ranged counter fire. That's why i want mount Candy removed or lowered/flattened.

Rotate spawns by 90 degrees and return to old classic spawn points, so fights will happen around radio tower hill? Lol, that spawns were unbalanced too, cuz one team were getting to tower faster and were stomping other team right from cover, while they were at open space near lower ridge. This map is terribly unbalanced and there is no place on it, where balanced fights could happen.

because 1) We need more maps not less 2) cries of massive advantage are BS because I have won and lost from all spawn points 3) just because most players are too stupid but to fight anywhere but Candy Mountain is not the same as Candy Mountain being the only viable or desirable battleground.

It needs Spawns reworked and Conquest points spread more, but I'd rather it stay in rotation while that is being addressed, thanks.

That's because when it comes down to it, the majority of the forumers do not want Alpine to be removed. Changed, yes, but not removed. Only the loud-mouthed minority--such as the OP, wants the map gone, and is willing to intentionally break CoC to release their angst. How sad it is.

That's cause saving Alpine and deleting Alpine are two different things. Of course, your brain probably cannot comprehend the importance of their distinctions, judging from the sad quality of your posts.

Also, weren't you suppose to be done with this game thanks to Matchmaking spanking your butt? Why are you still playing?

Selfish and Subjective. LOL. I actually had to go back to the OP and read that mess of an opinion.
You literally JUST SAID that you would quit every time it came up because you don't like it.

Yeah, even though i play mainly 270m range Brawlers, i don't want Alpine to be completely removed. The game's already lacking in map-variety without us removing maps.

What the map needs is something to be done about the central mountain (either making it completely inaccessible (kind of like the Crimson Strait central mountain) or making it much more easily accessible by making both sides of it shallower, easier to climb.
Also the bases/conquest points should be spread around a bit more. The map is HUGE, make use of it.

First of all, majority of forumers - are not majority of playerbase. Long history of many games shows us, that it's active forumes - who are actually a vocal minority. Developers always should rely on objective facts, not on what some "Petitions" on forums suggest them. This map is terrible and unbalanced - and this is an objective fact. It should be removed and then fixed, otherwise it should be permanently removed.

As i said in another alpine thread. No one dares to leave Mount Candy and why should they? On 2 out of 3 game modes it's a fortress. You can't get sniped from the front and if anyone went to your rear you'd see them. You have no real way to give the team camping on Mount Candy a reason to up and leave.

We have two issues with the map in it's current state.

Mount Candy and Spawns.

Completely inaccessible center? May be we should turn it into volcano, lol? No. We don't need another Therma-like map, where center of the map is completely blocked by some crappy obstacle. We need to get rid of such a maps instead.

I'm not sure you've ever played Terra Therma, because the center there is anything but "inaccessible"

Going to center - is suicide there, cuz it completely lacks cover and if you're an Assault or even Heavy - you can't go around volcano, cuz it would take way too much time. Most fights there - are stupid stomps on narrow passes to caldera or messes at center. Complete lack of viable tactics - the worst map in a whole game. We don't need maps with blocked center, sorry.

+1 Players are searching for tactics via method of trial and error. And after thousands of matches, I have played, I can say, that Alpine doesn't have any other viable tactic, then camping Candy Mountain. Mmm... May be one of the teams has a choice - to stomp other team fast via rushing at it or to prolong this pleasure via staying at Gold Star and playing shooting gallery game.

I would agree if you would have said, spawns in skirmish are bad because to farspread and with imbalanced travel lanes.
You could have said bases in assault mode are positioned bad cause one base has the hill and the other is out in the open....but OP I realy do not like your tone and your basic refusal or outright despite of opinions differing from your own.
So...reported for beeing inflamatory.
