Close...but not exact.

Even tonnage for both sides or bust.

And I find Russ's recent tweet about balance being achieved only by having the major merc units switch back to Clan side to be in poor taste and really disgusting. It's not the player's job to balance out this game-it's yours.

We're just playing with the tech you're programming into this thing. Stop punishing us already!

And stop trying to dictate who the hell we choose to fight! Forcing units to fight other units sounds great on paper, but put it into execution, and you create the situation where a given unit might find itself stuck on a planet with no other unit choosing to oppose them-deliberately-especially if said unit is in a matchmaker that restricts it to fighting anyone EXCEPT a unit; make it even worse if you confine fighting to unit teams of equal drop size.

Good luck with that!

It is rarely as obvious that PGI doesn't know how the game plays as when they juggle around with tonnage.

Do they have ANY idea at all how complicated it is for the vast majority of players to make drastic changes to their dropdecks? Let alone whole units? Posted Image

Ah, welp...

Tonnage is the best avenue to balance CW.

However, we all know that the big merc units went IS to force their beloved clan mechs to be buffed. They then plan to switch back to even more OP clan tech. Right now it is just a population battle vs pug stomps.

PGI did the right thing in only adjusting tonnage.

Nobody said "Steam" as of yet?

Steams Mech packs for Clan: Cheetah, Stormcrow, Timber Wolf, Dire Wolf = 260t.

edit: Anyhow I do not like the raise of drop tonnages, neither IS nor Clan.

I think you are a moron. How are you enjoying your free 65 ton blackjacks?

Why not just bring the tonnage down to 240 +/-5?? Why just keep upping it? The tonnage restrictions used to mean that you had to make tactical choices on what mechs to bring. Now you just bring 4 65 tonners on both sides.

Also, as it has been noted before, the tonnages changes do nothing to rectify the overquirking of particular IS mechs, nor the nerf from the skill tree for which clans got no compensation where as IS mechs did.

First Theory
If i did my math right; First upped to 250: Clan IIC Pack; Now 260: Clan Steam Packs.

Better Theory: Instead of fixing Light Mechs hit reg, just give all the players lots of tonnage so they won't want to play them.

That will not help, because:
no motivation to particiapte, no advantages to fight and hold the territories
no lore story and no common sence in all that war (you probably suppose that players must keep all the lore in their heads and imagine the reasons to fight by themselves... yeah, right)
no tactical gameplay (fix dat "zoom in da face" already I want to know on which flank im looking at)
no "great battle" participation feel, no news feeds, no "your 0,001% help on this planet", no alliances and betrayals, no even comstar interceptions... booooring!
no unique rewards for each fraction, no drawbacks/advantages to play this or that fraction, all the same copy/paste
no general balance, uncontrolled pug stomps keep players away

"CW Phase №3" PLEASE ASAP

How about we try going the other way? Require us to make some hard choices... Do I take 3 Meds and a Heavy or Lights and Assault?

The even was organized by them, it is within their right to balance the number of people participating as equally as possible between IS and Clans. And you are a merc working for the Great Houses/Clans. You enevitably will do this, developer intervention or not. That's litterally the name of the game.

Long time i have waiting/hoping for that tonnage. Thank you Pgi team.

Next needed step would be if we could save 2 or 3 dropdecs for ready to choose between them.

did someone celebrate new year too ahrd and wasn't sober?

This is a stupid idea because it will supermeta stuff like TBR TBR TBR ACH.

And what for? to rebalance the created imbalance you did, this is seriously not he right way. because the dead chassis vs OP chassis problems are not solved, and without this you will never solve the clan vs IS issue

240 was a kind of upper limit to prevent some meta dropdeck abusage now we go UP UP UP to make sure that every trained group just supermetasizes their dropdecks. Still not talkign about how it does balance nothing.

How about trying 240 vs 235 or 230 at first?

Please never buff Clan again then, I win 80% of my CW games (PUG) and all the crying ******** "Winner Team Joiners" that dont realize that clan is still vastly superior are gone and dont weigh down my teams :) I'd rather win my games than conquer planets, since planets dont benefit anybody anyhow.

It‘s just a minor change that won't change the outcome, you should've done this a lot earlier. IS won't stop till there are no Clan planets left, only then you might see units switching sides because there will be no matches avaliable.

Edit: If you want people to play Clan boost rewards for Clan Factions, stop messing with the tonnage.
