I will not be able to upgrade my PC for another month or three. Which is ok since I'm having my hand surgery in maybe 3 weeks or so I hope. So I'm only running about 55 FPS.

PGI is going to freeze my PT on the 20th.

What I want to do is do some PVP with a friend from my unit. I'm doing this to test some things that IMO, will be best understood in "person".

I used to do Twitch and now Madden streams there automatically. I've lately found out that you can stream on YouTube and Facebook.

And I want to try YouTube. So I DLed Open Broadcaster. And now I'm stuck.

f you are using the Stream now option:

  • Simply copy the server URL and stream name/key into your encoder.

If you are creating a Live Event:

  • Copy the YouTube entry points from Ingestion Settings to your encoder.
    • Stream Name - This identifies your stream on YouTube's servers.
    • Primary Server URL - This is the main server where your stream will be ingested by YouTube.
    • Backup Server URL - This is the backup server where your stream will be ingested by YouTube.
  • Choosing to stream to the backup is recommended but requires double the outbound bandwidth (you are outputting a simultaneous redundant stream). So make sure that you have the internet bandwidth capacity.
    • Ideally, your backup stream should be on an entirely redundant physical encoder.
  • Configure your encoder using YouTube's recommended encoding settings.
  • Configure your audio and video sources.
  • Start encoding.
I try to start it and it says "No server specified to connect to"

So I tried Twitch which set things up itself as far as the game etc. And it semi worked for a while. But it would go screen with in a screen wit in a screen etc.

Now it just runs the ad and goes black and reruns the ad over and over

Just wondering the reason, thats all.

Have you ever tried fraps for video recording? (Even teamspeak with overwolf can record your vids and its free!!!)

By recording straight to your hard drive, you can upload straight to youtube and the video quality is really good!

Just a thought, also, If you have premium time, And wanted to get some private matches going, I would be willing to activate some of my banked time, and we can practice stuff some time (I must admit I dont play often though). (Also I cant play today but I might be on tomarrow if your interested)

Thanks Oldbob. I wanted to use Youtube but Twitch already has everything set up for MWO.

I do not understand how it was going frame inside a frame etc. Sort of like those Russian eggs that had one with one one within another etc.

Is there a Teamspeak or something we can get together on?

I'm DLing Fraps now, I was also told of "Beam". Do you have a Mech that can mount up to 7 flamers?

Yea I used the normal OBS for two years and just now started to use the OBS Studio version and it works great.. The studio fixed my youtube videos from being really crappy quality to to about 1080p now some how with some settings.. OBS normal version has so many different tweeks that its not even funny but..

Didnt know there was a pay version and if you have to pay its a scam site or something just download from https://obsproject.com/ only and download either the studio (more streamlined) or the normal one and also if you have a good machine to get the 64 bit one..

As far as your speed is fine and you can tweak it when you stream and have someone watch it to see if it goes all funky or not and make sure you dont set up your bit rate over 2400 as thats about the norm for people to watch on any device but between about 1800 to 2400 is the best to stream with.

If you set it too high then the people with low end machines will just buffer like mad and not return to your stream and too low like 600-1200 it will have a bad quality to the stream.

I use ankhbot as a stream manager for my streams as it logs the times that people watch and I give away prizes every month or so for loyal followers that watch for x amount of time also it has a anti-troll mode thats great for them. I do suggest as well that when you stream make it in your settings that you put only people with accounts can chat in your chat room and that will keep the trolls at bay somewhat.

I hope some of that helps but its a TON of stuff to know ask away and I will answer anything you want

as far as youtube vs twitch I would go twitch as they are more established in the field of online streaming and no one watches youtube. They tried to get into the marked but went half assed and failed very bad at it. You can stream on both platforms if you wish but twitch is the best and has the higher player/watches base.

I would just us OBS as its the best to stream games with and all the others (Tried some) just are not set up and user friendly as OBS is. OBS is free and fraps is fine if you just want to post youtube videos but with OBS you can tweak your settings alot more to get the best quality stream there is..

Just asking and I ask everyone when they want to stream on twitch is why? Then I can point to a better or guide you to aspects of twitch or help you in the way you want..

as far as your frame with in a frame you have to do game capture instead of window capture and that should fix that issue

The free version of Fraps is easy to use BUT it only records 30 seconds at a time.

OBS is open-source IIRC

If you are a good programmer, you can even work on their code, fork it and make your own version.
100% free, and better than free beer.

I use OBS studio for recording time to time, it's very good.

Fraps is NOT free. If you want the full functionality, you will have to buy it. It's also somewhat outdated for today since it produces YUGE files.

Well, it seems my first mistake was DLing the Classic version. I'm going to delete it and DL the Studio one.

Down the line, I want to be able to record my Unit's "Fox Wars" and our normal matches. Trust me, NO ONE is going to turn in to watch me play MWO, lol.

I do have people who like to watch my Madden games. I 'm looking for a way to block out what plays I'm calling and more important, the changes I'm making. That is the flaw in recording or streaming Madden games, they can see what you are doing.

If thats the case, i highly recommend Overwolf.

Just instal teamspeak if you havent already. Then add the Overwolf add on. Inside teamspeak, look for the hotkey setup, and look for recording. Prese the button and it will start recording, press again to stop the recording (and it autosaves).

OK, the good news and the odd news.

I found a setting that was not right. HA, I was going to say I lost how I did it but I found it.

Under sources and under game capture is "properties".

The first one is "mode" the second is "window". I looked through the options under "window" and found "MechWarriorOnline 64 bit.

And BOOM, there it is.
