OP seems to have never tried Gauss+PPC+TC DWF. It can still alpha Mechs down with alarming speed and from alarming range even though both PPC and Gauss have been nerfed to ground.

OP is aware of the this built. In the hands of a dedicated sniper who knows how to re-position and support the team, it's a monster. However, majority of those who runs these builds just want to have max score without being shot at regardless what's happening to the rest of the team.

When I see a DWF sniping in the distance, my first action is to just swing across a intervening terrain and engage his/her other team mates. Any time a mech can't shoot at the enemy, it is effectively removed from the match. The problem with MWO peek a boo sniping is the vast majority of the time, they don't have a target to shoot because your enemies aren't stupid enough to stand where you can shoot at them. Apart from Alpine, there's not really any map that allows continuous sniping. In the end, your Gauss/PPC just don't get used much and your end game DMG is comparable to a medium who's been in the thick of things most of the game.

I'm not against snipers. I'm simply saying those who can ONLY peek a boo snipe like a FPS needs to learn a few new skill sets and understand how positioning works in a game that has amour value.

This. Armor doesnt work at all. Period.

Its better not get hit at all or stay at ranges where you can hurt the enemy but they cant hurt you back.

More often than not its the idiots that charge in and try to brawl that end up losing the match for everyone else.

In my experience, it's the exact opposite. Now not saying the morns that just do an ill conceived charge but 99.9% of the time the team that stands back is the team that loses. the OP described a losing solo Q team.
The vast majority of the time the more aggressive team wins. the behaviour when pushed that the op described I see EVERY SINGLE SOLO Q GAME.
And that behaviour 100% of the time on every single loss. He is bang on the money.

Most of those who scream "why you want me to be in the open and get shot at?! NOOOOB!" are basically those who didn't know when to charge, might have charged in on his/her own in the distant past, got instantly creamed and now discover the only way for a chicken sniper to get decent score is in an assault mech picking off mechs from waaaay back.

Oh, those games where he/she lost due to being flanked or when he/she's the last one alive because the team didn't have the armour or DPS to win in that last melee? Well, it must've been their fault for charging in - should have hugged the hill like him/her taking pot shots.
