Why do you have to either literally follow it or not at all? Where does that "either/or" principle come from?

Sounds like a really stupid rule, it's much better to be pragmatic and use what you like and change what you want to change.

IS purists or fans are ok to follow the timeline and cling to canon, yet when it comes to nerfed clans not a word is spoken. It quite the cute double standard that's allowed.

I'm ok with Clan Mechs =/= IS Mechs, I'm not ok with picking and choosing the right to spout about lore or canonicity to fit your crappy agendas like "timeline"

See where they call it a Battletech Game?
it is miss leading as it is not a battletech game at all no where close to it, claiming to be means they should be following the lore, time lines, mechs, ect.

they however do not. they only take the names of mechs and the equipment and that's it.
nothing more.

so it should be ether or. drop the 'A battletech game' or follow what has been preset.

Somewhere on these forums I did suggest a change of name: Hawken 2.0. Posted Image

Why should the Clan be any different than the IS? Most of our mechs are unplayable and we do not have the Cheetah/Crow/Timby/Dire to fall back on.

Mediums should be the workhorses, but in MWO this role has been taken by heavies.

Mediums are too large and Heavies are too fast.

Because if you follow the canon, you must literally follow it. But if you've changed it in many ways, it's just stupid to not change other things as well.

that one very false statement kind of negates any other point you want to try to make.

One cannot make a literal translation of a boardgame to a FPS videogame. (Well, you could try, and the results would actually be further from canon) because TT artistic choices tend to be absolute trainwrecks in 3D actuality.

And from those basic common sense changes start stringing others.

That said, no MW video game has ever been considered canon. But they (except for MW4) try to at least be BASED on canon.

Are we playing the same game? Because the Blackjack is literally tougher than an Atlas!

This is the first BT game where IS> Clans I don't really care I kill most of you anyway, but don't claim IS is week and you have no options, IS has the biggest roster of mechs, clans are severely lacking in number of good choices tonnage limits anyone? On top of that IS has all these great quirks (which I'm a fan of) but all clans strait negative quirks and all of them are glass cannons.

Being class cannons is fine, as long as they don't move like slugs.

I'm not saying I agree with you or the OP, but I have quite a few matches better than that in an LRM Atlas. The only thing that screenshots like this show is that you are damn good in that 'mech, regardless of how "bad" it might be.

I enjoy my clan mechs in match making. Dont really see or feel much of a difference. On either side you have mechs that make you go "oh no" when spotted as you desperately twist away

So you disagree then make my point? And use the Blackjack to make your point?

IS is not greater than clans. The IS have more BAD choices than the Clan, period. Quantity does not equate to Quality. For every bad Clan mech you put up I can put up two bad IS in the same weight class.

And even though Clan choices are limited, they are limited to THE BEST MECHS IN EACH WEIGHT CLASS. Wow, must be tough.

But even the Clan has less mechs fallacy falls apart when you actually consider swapping components, something people forget to do. If you consider all combinations that the Clan can field of a chassis you have as many choices as IS. The only thing limiting you is you.

And the Blackjack is not tougher than the Atlas after the recent changes. But a clan light is. Case closed.

Sadly this community doesn't care about quality mechs.

Here are some worthless mechs added to the game for nostalgia purposes or just filler.

Urbanmech
Panther
Locust
Grasshoper

Could have had better IS mechs in but hey.

Clans are definitely not more OP and we have tonnage holes.

The Grasshopper is actually fairly decent, and you forgot to mention the Orion, and Victor, and Vindicator, and Kintaro.
