He said "ideally" and frankly both the Kingfisher and Turkina are so bad that we should probably assume that there is no ideal 4 mechs that meet his ideal criteria.

Its pretty obvious Kodiak is going to be a single mech pack like the unseens frankly..

Kingfisher won't be that bad, and would be a prime candidate for ECM.

Both are Ghost Bear Mechs too :-) ... Why not a Ghost Bear pack: Fire Moth, Grizzly, Kingfisher, Kodiak!

see the trouble is we're literally running out of clan omnimechs

The next omnimech pack after this one could well be an inner sphere omnimech pack. Mechs like the Templar, Hauptmann, Men Shen, Sunder, and Raptor, to name just a small few, may be closer than we think, but of course, we need the full compliment of inner sphere tech 2 before we get them.

Just a chip off the legs for the Night Gyr. Perfect for dual gauss + 6 tons and 4 ER MLs and 4 extra DHS.

Ironically you run out of space for either a ERML or a ton of ammo.

Fire Falcon
Viper
Linebacker (BESM represent)
Kingfisher

I wouldn't might it if they did a saber like package with this one considering how many medium omnis there are currently. If anyone is wondering about the remaining omnis:

Lights:
  • Fire Moth
  • Fire Falcon
Mediums:
  • Viper
  • Battle Cobra
  • Phantom
  • Pouncer
  • Coyotl*
  • Mongrel
  • Huntsman
  • Black Lanner
  • Stooping Hawk
Heavies:
  • Crossbow
  • Lupus*
  • Linebacker
  • Night Gyr
  • Woodsman*
Assaults:
  • Kingfisher
  • Turkina
* - Denotes mechs technically no longer produced or in service.

Thank you.

Well from those choices from above, I would only pick the Coyotl.

Edit: However I would not pay $35 for an ala-carte Coyotl pack

5 slots in each side torso, 4 for DHS and 1 for an ERML.
1 slot in the head for an ERML.
2 slots in the CT, 1 for an ERML and one for a ton of ammo.
8 slots in the arms, 6 for a Goose Waffle and 2 for tons of ammo.
1 ton left over due to excess space.
0.5 if you max armor.

I seen ALOT of people say Night gyr(my vote added too).

Im really wanting the nova cat but it's a 3059 mech and Russ said the current year is 3053 so it might not get it but there is versions with current tech on it.

We need more clan mediums though.

Some other people keep saying Mad cat mk2(3066 and weapons not yet in game) for reasons beyond me.

NOOOOOOOOO!!

Could drop a DHS too. 15 should be okay for 4 cER MLs. 5 tons of ammo would also be okay.

Dont forget you can mix and match hard points, I think you're just thinking prime.

Purist (Pokemech) Pack

Firemoth
Viper
Night Gyr (Heavy Mech centred on weapons rather than speed)
Kingfisher (Std Engine provides variety)

Alt for light would be Fire Falcon
Alt for medium would be Grendel, Phantom, or even Stooping Hawk (I like the blood Spirits)
Alt for heavy would be Nova Cat (Always good to have another clan make an appearance, even if only mech-wise)

Can't dispute the time, but it definitely has a couple variants with weapons that we have.

Nah, there is actually only one variant with the CT hardpoint (Early adopter variant, obviously) but I imagine it does have crit slot limits with endo, ferro, and 4 JJs. Timber is already tight with less jumpjets and more hardwired DHS.

Remember though, 280 XL vs a 375 XL. It counts. Not that i'd do double gauss on mine. Double UAC 10 is the way to go.

No, I'm thinking the best combination, because you can't fit gauss anywhere else but the arms.

The Night Gyr B is double Gauss Double LBX 2, lacking in ammo is all.

Yeah but because of locked armor/structure there is no room for gauss in the torsos, UAC10s though you should be good!

The problem with the Night Gyr is that the Hellbringer already fills the same role (more guns > speed). The Linebacker would be the fastest Clan heavy in the game, even faster than the Summoner.

Stone Rhino? Posted Image

If we have to follow the 3 variant rule I'd say

Naga
Linebacker
Lupus
Grendel

We're way over do for Arrow IV systems. Just make it take up 3 missile hardpoints, this would limit the mechs that could carry it.

If not Naga than Night Gyr I guess.

Can I vote for "No more quad-pack Mega Waves", instead?

I like what they've got going on with the Icon packages. Let's do that, instead. Adjust the pricing on the 'Collector's' packs since nobody pays twenty bucks for a C-bill boosted duplicate variant they can't pick (ironically, twenty bucks for a "Hero-tize This 'Mech" item in the shop, applicable to any 'Mech of player choice, would probably fly off the shelves), but I would really rather stop buying mega-priced mega-packs every three frogmothering weeks.

And the less said about the travesty that is A'la Carte pricing, the better.
