is SC anything more than mwo in space yet?

IE arena commander

Well, it's not done yet but they're getting there. With having the beginnings of the persistent universe available for people to fly around in rather than the original small Arena Commander areas. Will they actually achieve what they set out to do and make it more than just combat, combat, combat? Yes, I think they will. When will that be? I don't know, but it looks to me like they're making good progress. Now, keep in mind I haven't actually played since just after they released the first Arena Commander version, as I said due to not wanting to burn myself out on the game before all the other stuff that will make it an actual finished game are in there, so others who _have_ played since then would probably be able to give you a more well-informed answer. Personally I expect to hop back in when the single player campaign, Squadron 42, is released as that will likely be before the multiplayer persistent universe is ready.

Was a pretty good game on the Commodore as well.

Yes. Yes it was. :) Ah, the old days! I still miss my Commodore 64 and regret selling it, even if that did help pay for the Atari ST I upgraded to. Sure wish I still had that thing, but all my tapes filled with games would probably have degraded beyond readability by now anyways. :)

Borderlands 2, Far Cry 4 (not very often though) and whatever MMORPG my friends happen to be on at any given day. This game is pretty hard to compare to among shooters, IMO. I just wish I could get some of my IRL friends to play this with me Posted Image

Got a stack of RPGs I need to play, including Tales of Zestiria and Xenoblade Chronicles II. The latter is actually a mecha RPG.

Currently playing World of Warships as top priority, MWO and War Thunder temporarily both at the back burner. Trying to get my Arpeggio of Blue Steel ships out of their current event.

While I also play another game, not sure why OP posted in the "MWO Universe General Discussion" since other games don't fall under that at all.

This thread should be in Off Topic Discussions. New players, including those from Steam should be able to come here and not read about other games.

I thought a light-hearted thread would be a good thing to break up the monotony of constant balance discussions and complaint threads. Geez. Tough crowd.

Let's see...

BORDERLANDS (the whole collection, 1-2-TPS-TFTB)
Crysis (all 3)
FEAR (Especially 2 & 3, but all incl. DLC)
BF2
Ghost Recon (OGR, not that Hollywood crap that UbiSoft has churned out since)
HL2 (HL3 will, if it ever gets out, be mandatory)
Fallout (3, NV, 4)
STALKER (SoC and CoP; didn't care for CS)(BEST FPS/RPG crossover EVER, and creepy AF, and a big part of the reason I studied Russian in college and spent Spring Break in Chernobyl)
Gunship (THE original; had it on my Tandy 1000HX back in the late 80s)
LHX (see above)
Falcon (SAMESIES)
F-19 Stealth Fighter (see a pattern here?)
Gran Turismo (2-4; only reason to bother owning a console at all)
Battleborn (CTT was fun; NDA notwithstanding, I'm REALLY looking forward to this game)

Games I tried and didn't care for:
Warframe
Arma (1, 2) just too clunky and cheap feeling interface; felt unfinished and unpolished, but ADORE the open-world thing
Operation Flashpoint (yup, 2001 baby!) same thing, older tech
Delta Force (1, 2, 3, etc.) I really hate being a one-man army, actually--it's boring
World of Tanks
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (1 & 2) just a poor attempt by UbiSoft to pitch a movie idea, and that's a shame since the developer was really pretty good (GRIN, Sweden) and very responsive to the community, but UbiShaft is a bunch of jerks
Rainbow Six (most of 'em) I played everything through/including Raven Shield, and it was alright, but it all went downhill from there, and Ubi can E.A.D.
Splinter Cell (through/including DA) Was fun to a point, but again I don't want to play a game designed primarily to earn a movie deal for UbiShaft

Upcoming titles that may tear me away from MWO:
Ground Branch (OMFG SO MUCH YES!) Promises to be the heir to all that R6/GR should have become but didn't. You want tactical? This is it. Gonna be off the CHIZZLE fo RIZZLE.
DooM (Is it bad that I dream about Doom3 to this day?) I love this series. Hell, since Wolfenstein 3D I've been in love with everything those guys have done. No tactics, no teamwork, no problem. Creepy and evil and unapologetic (everything the movie SHOULD have been but wasn't).
Battleborn
Borderlands 3 (NOT YET CONFIRMED, but you KNOW it's coming) TINY TINA AS A PLAYABLE CHARACTER FTW! Seriously, this franchise is solid freaking gold. Problem is, how do you top Handsome Jack as the bad guy?

no worries, like I said I play other games too. Just people come to this section of the forums to discuss MWO. Your thread just belongs in another section, but perfectly legit.

Right now?

MWO
Star Trek Online

^Those are the two main ones. However, I'm also dabbling around with:

Quake II
Empire: Total War
Armello
Mass Effect 2
Ghost Recon: Phantoms

theres only a few games that makes me not think MWO:

Company of Heroes 2 ( a very nice RTS)
Fallout 4 (playing it almost all days since the release, getting boring atm)

Path of Exile from time to time

Insurgency

and Project Reality, a mod of BF2 focused on making the game more realistic, this game is awesome.

Just finished Dragon Age inquisition.. really enjoyed it (110 hours to finish!)

Crusader kings II, great strat game. Nothing like ****** and pillaging england after a night of bad pugs to cheer you up, I play it very often.

Banished.. town builder.. don't let your people starve!

Next up? Finish my Dragon age II play through.. Despite the bad press, i really enjoyed the NPC's and interactions, a step up from DA, but the reused assets left it a bit shallow, and combat not the best, but over all, a solid RPG

And these 4 have been sitting on my must play list for a while now. Wasteland II, banner saga,, thief 4, and tomb raider you know 5 dollar sales i stock up, but with the little bits i have played, all seem worth it as something different than MWO

Games i always play, and have for years.. each must have over 1k hours over the years.

Tropico, Great sandbox game, rule your island, your way.

Freedom force.. Old school super hero game, that i just love.. 16 years later and it is still a great game!

Baldurs gate, Can't wait for the newest expansion.. getting close to 20 years and i still love this game.. one of the best RPG's ever made.. Just don't rely on pathing to get you from point A-B Posted Image

I did find the thread interesting how many people are playing STO, i have a founder account on that one, but the ground game just bored me to tears.. If i never had to leave the ship other than away missions, for diplomacy and such i would love it.. but ground combat is not Star trek to me. Anyway you can just play space? Posted Image

Witcher 3 (lost count of how many hours now... probably close to 500)

Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries

The re-released Day of the Tentacle

Replaying Half-Life.

Crysis series

Outside of the Witcher 3, I find myself playing old games more than new....

Zero. I'm not really a gamer at all... except for MWO.
