I mean I whish for the old days where you went to the BX/PX and bought your PC games
after MWO I hope I never see another online game
Why cant you still buy PC games? Are they Stand alone? Whatever do you mean?
I see them fro sale all the time in my local electronics store. But just like everyone else, why cut out sales by limiting yourself to stores?

Speaking of final fantasy, give ff7 a go if you'vent played it! One of the best one in their series.
FF7 is by far the best one out of the whole series, by a loooooong shot. The story trumps every other one by miles with all dopey faces we all came to know and love.
But i also wonder why someone would come here for 2 years even thought they dont play the game. My guess is you do play the game but you dont want to admit it for some reason. You wouldn't be here otherwise.

...
Stores that stock boxed PC games that aren't COD, BF4, or The Sims are rare in many places.

Not in sweden i'd say!
Altho i keep seeing shrinking number of games they do carry though!
And the biggest reason for that is probably steam. With all the sales going on all the time on steam, it's just not worth buying it in a retail store.
Edit: A good example is a retailed game is priced around 50-60$ here, while steam usualy offers them for 20-30$ range. It's, imo quite obvious which way to choose where to buy games.

Let's see. What other games. Well I would play Star Citizen if I could ever get it to install. It worked for a while but then a patch broke it and no amount of uninstalling/reinstalling has worked.
Board games. Considering I have over 100 of them I suppose I should play a few.

Fallout 4 (just started it).
But my main time sink is Digital Combat Simulations (DCS). Flying all the high-fidelity modules for it.
A-10C
F-86F
Mig-15 Bis
Mig-21 Bis
BAE Hawk

BE-109K4
UH-1H
KA-50
Mi-8 MTV2
Mirage 2000
Su-25T (not high-F but it came free so why not)
I currently devise training materials/missions for most of those.

The trend started before steam was as popular as it is now for distribution. More to do with having dead stock when games don't sell as well as forecast, I'd guess, so they only stock the ones that are guaranteed to sell. Also it's been 20 years since I last saw a game store that was fully committed to selling PC games in general because they are harder to resell with the move to online DRM.

I don't want to clutter the thread to much, but yes i've to agree with you. I mean they're not at fault, due stocking games that doesn't sell would just cost them money.
Most of the stores that carries / or used to carry pc games here in swe, has focused into more console gaming, so in that way they can still keep up.
But most of them do carry alot of pc games aswell, if they sell however, is another matter. (Apart from the mainstream games.)

Crypt of the Necrodancer - (~♪)
System shock - Enchanced Edition (Already went through the systemshock 2 revamp an modded campaigns last year)
Xenonauts - (X-com with riot shields n stuff, A very nice addition.)
Mount and Blade; Warband - (Currently running through the Gekokujo mod.)
Shadowrun, Dragonfall - (Yay HBS)
While I've plenty of others, they are not tempting me right at this very moment.

World of Tanks (though we're on the outs right now)
Armored Warfare (though MWO stole a lot of it's thunder)
War Thunder (also on break as Gaijin gets its act together)
World of Warcraft (casually, for nostalgia)
I did play World of Warships, until I concluded that I hate it.
Editing now that I'm no longer on mobile.
Solo/Console...
Bloodborne
Star Wars Battlefront
Disney Infinity 3.0
Fallout 4
Skyrim
Dragon Age: Inquisition
Dynasty Warriors

Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void is next on my list
XCOM 2: (when it is released)
At this point I am not sure when I will be back to MWO, Maybe when we get 4v4, or the quirk system gets overhauled (eliminated).
