No need for me to write too much, Fayth has done it by herself. Please read her story and think about helping a familiy member. Thank you very much!

For the ones who don't know her: she is CO of Hub Steiner unit ORMC (Faythofthelost ingame) and Aphelion Dax is ORMC member.

Thank you Catalina for posting this.

I know there are a lot of people that have met myself and Aphelion Dax over the years of playing MechWarrior. I know that times are tight for everyone these days. If you can donate it is a huge help to us and even if you can't that's okay too. Please take the time to share how you met us or a favorite moment. I'm trying to gather these to share with him when I am able.

I will try to keep everyone updated as things go along. Right now he has a long road of healing ahead of him.

I remember the day when we made these LRM training videos and... Dax helped us to create an urban mech fight. He was driving his Trebuchet and was covering you while you shot LRM's at your opponent.

Unfortunately my memory is not what it used to be (ie. it was always crap, but somehow it found a way to get worse when I wasn't looking) so it's a pretty tall order to tell anything about the first time I met anyone if I didn't meet them during this week. That being said, as far as my memory serves me I've had feelings of fondness and respect for the people of ORMC (so that would mean at least two days worth of fondness and respect!) and it's not often I feel two positive emotions at once due to the high waste of calories it causes which would normally be better used towards my goal of becoming a human mountain. In all honesty, most of this silly positivity is caused by the personality and actions of Fayth herself and this is not a slight against Dax or any other ORMC peeps to say so, just a fact among many others.

So while I don't think I've met Dax on the field, I hope it happens at some point in the future as I have no doubts he's worthy judging by the people he has been associated with. So all the best and things of that nature. Note: I actively chosed to not comment on any possible donations or lack of thereof and, by Rambo, I will never tell what I've done or not done.
Edit: Chosed? CHOSED?! What kind of a man writes chosed? It's a typo, just so you know.

We meet Fayth and DAX at Dragon Com last year,..and had some fun drops / fights in the past year! Hope Dax gets better soon. My unit is here to help where we can.

Dax is a good guy who is happy to work with people new to the game and help them find their place within MWO. I've known them for some time and am quite happy to be a part of their unit.
I'm not going to say anything sappy about their relationship, just make it clear that I want them both to have as much chance as they can to be together during the trying times.

I believe it is maybe my turn now to share what I asked everyone else to do.

Thank you everyone that has taken the time to comment and or donate, both of these things go a long way in helping with a dark situation. No one ever wants to know what it is like to have a loved one in this type of situation though many of us have. Some of you have had a happier ending then I am, others worse. Regardless we all know the pain of the situation and thank you those that have shared this with me because it certainly helps me keep my strength for the one that I love.

I was recruited to join the Isengrim in fall of 2013. I had been wandering from unit to unit staying long enough to participate in training programs or setting them up and moving on to the next. While I had been playing MWO for a few years by this point I had only just started to fully move from playing on my ps3 to here, mostly because of toxic communities. I had hoped, and thanks to friends like Richard Hardslab and others, to find a better place to play by coming to the MWO community to stay. Sadly though I experienced several units that were not comfortable with female gamers....some were downright aggressive in ways that you should not act towards not just a woman but anyone.

So for me it was rather surprising when Mech the Dane (yep it wasn't Dax that recruited me) asked me to join them on the Isengrim teamspeak and drop with them a bit. I spent the next month getting to meet people like Greymage, Stormwolf, The Pooch, jiyn, and so many others. Absolutely wonderful men that gave me a home for the first time ever on MWO. There they treated me not just like some person...but like a real woman. It was also because of Greymage, Dane, Pooch, and a few others that Dax and I ever even met. Which was interesting since he was the second in command of the Isengrim then.

I spent the first month of my time with Isengrim mostly dropping with Dane and Stormwolf. It was his and others suggestions that got me to sit down and talk with Dax one night, they had pointed out to me that he and I had a lot in common that I was not aware of....the next thing Dax and I realized is that we had talked the whole night through. Then it happened again....and again.

He and I later left Isengrim for our own reasons. There are some great people in Isengrim, and some not so great. But I have been asked why I do not have more of an issue with Dane. And here is why. He and I may have our differences and our different perspectives....but I would not have met the man I love if it hadn't been for him. So all nonsense aside...I'd rather be grateful for things like that then holding grudges, justified or otherwise.

But that is how I met the pilot that has been the other half of my team ever since. It is very strange now doing drops without him by my side...and for now until I know that he is doing significantly better I have decided to shelve my assaults. It doesn't feel right without his trebuchet at my side. So instead I'll try to continue what he has taught me.

I met Fayth back when I was still with the TCMC with Cyklonejack's group. She was a visiting guest and was always fun playing with her, I believe Dax as well was met in the same fashion. One morning woke up and Cyklonejack had left me a message that he had changed units as a heads up. I spent some time thinking about it but decided to move with my personal unit and joined the ORMC which I have still remained in even though I have not been playing as often as I used to.

Have always had great times with Fayth and Dax, even if loosing a battle, enjoying my time playing with the unit.

Father and Dax took me in when Isengrim had become a hollow place and allowed me to make ORMC my new MWO home (and now expanding it for other stuff too).

I was essentially running all operations of TCMC in 2013 as an officer (the CO and XO were aloof) generating original content, populating and maintain websites, rankings etc etc. when Fayth & co. showed up as part of the Isengrim fallout. (TCMC gained quite a few pilots from that event, and Fayth immediately offered to help with my duties) Being a gaming group made up of high-school friends we were wary of letting too many people in who we didn't personally know. Certain key people did not like Fayth's personality (A strong woman, oh noes!) and did not appreciate what she and Dax as skilled pilots and just good people brought to the table (in many cases she bested the best of TCMC at the time) or the work she and Dax put into TCMC. All of the work we did, despite being given little room went largely unnoticed and in some cases, criticized.

We were all under appreciated.

Being in that close group of high-school friends that formed the core of TCMC I went to bat for Fayth and her vision many times when folks had contentious debates regarding what the group was supposed to do. Ultimately I learned some things about the people (I thought) I had known for nearly a decade that I didn't want to be associated with so, September 2014 with Fayth, Dax and our band of merry misfits we created the ORMC and the rest they say is all bar-talk and written on bathroom stalls.
