My thoughts exactly! Can even make it an easter egg type of deal. Knock down 10K trees and get a Paul Bunyan Golden Axe cockpit item or Babe the Blue OX! Or make it a RND number for each individual to inspire tree felling everywhere!

New map is absolutely diabolical. It's just lrm fest. Although my first match was a win and I stayed alive, it was horrible. Second match I never made it to the enemy, just got lrmed to death.

It's like watching 300 but with Mechs.

I have to say it certainly felt nice to feel like giving people ECM and AMS coverage makes a difference for a change.

Also there are so many really nice little trenches and valleys to sneak around in and get a midrange and brawler into range. Personally I love it so far.
Just make sure you don't get up on a crest. Those hurt.

Did I read here and on Smurfy right? Are the drop locations for the new map variable?

The Anorexic Warhammer arrives. Looks more like an oversized Hunchback.

If we can change Pilot name as described, surely it is not far off to making a second Pilot and seperating our Mechs so we could do Clan and IS seperately.

YES TO BREAKABLE TREES ON TAIGA. Those pixelated green walls just drove me crazy.

I Love Polar Highlands. It's a great addition to what we have. Very different atmosphere, in that it is basically flat and open, yet you can still very easily be flanked and hit from any direction. Really well done by the map developers o7 Thanks PGI

I love the new map. Even though people are starting to develop patterns, its large enough to require scouts, and for people to keep moving.

It might not be an original idea but you guys re skin it and turn it into an asteroid map and it'd be just as fun.

Thanks very much PGI for keeping Alpine Peaks in the Rotation. I hope it will not be deleted later on. Also some of the other already deleted Maps could come back just at a bit bigger Size. Or at least bring them back for private Matches and Testing Grounds. Or another 8v8 or 4v4 Mode... ?

Would be a nice Move.

I like the new Map. Good Size. Obviously it is nice for Snipers, LRM Boats and fast Lights.

PGI; very well done. Thank you.

I also love the new map, and have had my three highest scores ever, out of seven games played on Polar Highlands, thus far. I am also enjoying the flanking, the ability to actually hit targets I shoot at, etc.

I know you've removed the old River City and the old Forest Colony, and had thought to remove Alpine Peaks, but I am going to ask you to keep Alpine Peaks, and reinstate the old River City and old Forest Colony, please? Feel free to rename them, but rather than removing any maps from a rotation that remains too small, allow us to continue playing those old maps. Yes, yes, there were many folks who complained about the size of those maps, but I always felt they were fine and, if they are not being played as often as they used to be, I cannot see why people would continue to complain. To be honest, I miss the tunnel from the old Forest Colony, and the openness of the river in old River City was really nice. The new maps are really very nice, as well, but I feel it's an oversight to remove those old maps that have now been redone. The more maps we have, the more tactical destabilization and innovation will be required.

Also, I know I said I really liked the mode vote system but, if it were me, I would honestly remove that part of the voting system, please? Instead, my feeling is that you should eliminate all of those modes and go with a general mode, the discussion of which is found, here -as this will allow players to choose between Skirmish, Assault, Conquest, and an Objective-Based Warfare system-, as well as any actual special modes, such as the upcoming 4v4 Extraction.

I don't know what, precisely, has been done to the lasers, but it's actually as if I'm hitting better with my lasers, in general. Thank God I'm preparing to upgrade my system, FINALLY, because I can't wait to see this game in all of its amazing glory. Just another week.

So, as beautiful as this patch has been, and as much as I'm waiting for my Archer's, and as much as I told you my wallet was closed until the following thing was done, and I have to say you have really begun to turn things around, PGI -DO NOT LET THIS GO TO YOUR HEADS, HEHE-...

you're still missing objective-based warfare and improved mercenary unit identity, command and control, and real contracting -in accordance with Mercs Handbook and MH: 3055-, but somehow I think you're working on all of that. :D

I like the new map, though the Warhammer is the wrong mech for a map that requires hill humping

The Bog... is it just me or do the new trees and vines seem tact on?

Personally, I think they started giving out warhorns as prizes to help elevate the argument about how little excuse there is for an item that you pay real money for not working.

When making changes to armor in the Mechlab the game bogs down. Before, holding down the button to raise or lower armor would result in the numbers smoothly changing. Now you can actually see the fog in the background slow down as well. I don't know what changed but something is not right.

Can anyone else confirm if they are experiencing this issue as well?

I would propose not a reskin, but something similar. A flat map in an asteroid/moon, with craters. Add a domed "sensor array" and I could pretend I'm in the Satellite MacDuff (MW2's mission Sable Flame). I got the MW2 soundtrack ready. ;)

(now if only PGI managed to change the gravity of her maps... I guess the real issue is the hit detection for mechs running too fast)

Here's questions I would have for both of you... Would this Achievement set be cumulative across modes, or would it require specifically having separate cumulative ones for Quick Play and Community Warfare? Also, would RNG really be that fair for getting something like that, even though it would create a pain-staking grind?

Heck... Maybe it will teach people to use a bunch of depreciated modules? :P

I've had at least one crash since the patch... Have you tried clearing your shader cache, just in case?

Yeah... add the ability to have Low-Gravity Maps, and this game would definitely have an enjoyable array of new gameplay dimensions. :D

Turned out it was my attributes file in my profile folder, deleted that and the game ran fine.

well i like to play Dire Wolf with 2xGauss.. and it is strong enough with module. not sure about the Gauss buff.
all other changes look good to go

Before quirks were even thought of (or clans for that matter) the DPS for all ballistics trended but resulted the same output under a timed benchmark... Now Gauss has the lowest (and still is) DPS of all ballistics, regardless how accurate you are. And since it also has the lowest firing rate, that also means the lowest crit chances vs damage vs rounds fired too.

So.. yeah.. buff was needed.
