only from trolls posting completely off-topic stuff in an attempt to derail what is otherwise a very useful thread with community information in it.

Super secret townhall meeting on Friday ... white knights only.

Posted Image

Edit: Since Bish wants a question for the Town Hall "How many crayons are in your box, Russ? Are you more a primary color guy or do you like the pastels?" Im almost sure he will field it if you ask.

It's hard to listen to Russ talk anyhow. He really has taken many steps since the original launch to separate himself from the community and never really gives you any confidence that he actually knows much of anything about his own game.

Look guys, this thread isn't about how "bad" PGI is at their jobs or how "salty and pissy" some players are.

It's about the townhall meeting. Please keep it pertinent to that and the commentary to a minimum :)

This thread is getting the information out abotu when and where for the meeting as well as anyone who wants to post questions. I plan on attending the meeting and will try to get questions asked for anyone that posts in this thread, but I'm going to start hitting report guys. I'm not interested in weeding through 5 pages of "I hate PGI" in order to find the actual questions and info pertinent to the upcoming townhall :)

So please, keep it on topic and constructive and post your questions :)

I think Russ has had a grand total of one Townhall meeting but did not include a mech pack announcement. So predicting there'll be a pack announcement is a pretty safe bet. I understand they gotta make money, got to pay the bills, etc. But the perception is that Russ only has a town hall meeting when it's time to announce another pack. And that does get wearisome. Really wish that they would just announce their packs on the website, and through normal channels, and save the townhall meetings for serious questions about game balance and gameplay etc.

Yeah its clams wave 3, and everything else is vaguely "soon", sometime after another 6 mech packs

When can we expect a wider focus on alternative revenue streams rather than the same old same old mech pack after mech pack. Pve solo or co-op campaigns for example. The point is that the lack of progress in increasing the games depth in gameplay has contributed to an increased level of staleness.

Shame that there isn't an official channel to get questions in, but since you are attending you might ask in my stead;

Hardpoint specific quirks, have they considered it as an possibility?
(Less chance for boating if targeting appropriately and abominations like warhammer being better with nipple PPCs since the best quirks SHOULD be on arms)
Might as well ask if they've thought about sized hardpoints (not sure how I feel about those anyhow)

Question - When are the map making tools going to be released/sold to the players?

There are no map making tools they make each one with a standard 3d program. Thats why we dont havte very many maps.

They use the cryengine editor bro. Thats the point of cryengine. They aren't modelling out these levels manually in maya or 3ds max.

One question bugs me for a long time, please ask it if you can. (townhall starts at 4am for me...)

Lore units in CW.

If you guys remember original CW presentation, loyalist units were intended to be different from custom units. With permanent loyalty, original lore names (which are unavailable for custom units) and governed by devs or NPC.
I very much want to know fate of this concept. Will it get into the game in some form, or was it abandoned?

i think those come with the cryengine sdk. idk whether or not this is available for free to everyone. i have a feeling the sdk is a free download but you need a license to release a commercial product. free to unpaid modders. of course the eula forbids modding. that would result in the community releasing better products (and for free) than pgi and they dont want that to happen.

PGI has a full source license, they should be able to pack and re-distribute a map making tool for the cry engine sandbox.

Otherwise its 9.90 a month for the indie license. And there's people that would do that I'm sure if they had access to the textures. But PGI wouldn't make much money out of that method (well they'd make money by having better maps, but not much from the tools).

Either make the tool, or sell some textures and let these guys that have been itching to give the community free maps for years expand the game at next to no cost to PGI.

Unfortunately I don't know who to blame for this one. Is it a community manager issue for not dispersing the info to the community?

Careful now, you are treading on some thin skins with this comment.

Your OP in no way infers what you are now asking for on Page 2. Might I suggest you start a new post with "Plan on Attending Town Hall, gimme your questions" as a title?

So it's announced everywhere BUT the website

sounds appropriate for this game...

"Come talk to the devs!"

"Awesome, where's the info?"

"Just check every place MWO related on the internet EXCEPT the actual MWO website...."
