One two punch at range with the PPC and AC10. Backed up by 6Med when you get into brawl range. Recommend a pinch of increase heat reduction for Med buff. Also increase the torso twist range please. Why does this variant suffer in that so much compared to the rest.

BLR-2C

GMan129 build with a bigger XL engine, one more heatsink and max armour on the left arm, so new players doesn't wonder why his arm is blown away so fast...

Edit: typo

It pains me to leave hardpoints unused, or so much rear armour, but One must persevere in the face of personal preference in order to suggest mech that newfolk may learn on.

A simple two button affair the mech can fire ACs with the left mouse, an six medium lasers with the right. A tonne of ams ammo should help longevity. Quirked medium lasers with Auto Cannon backup should make this machine a mech to be reckoned with, even in the hands of the inexperienced.

It doesn't get better than this.

Behold my favorite scout mech, the BLR-1S!

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...54b484e2c1c1355

video link is me piloting a very good match with it, it's a very barebones video though.

Armed with ARTEMIS 2x SRM4(torso), 2xSRM6(arms), and 4 medium lasers(torso), with (10)+6 (all inside the 400XL) DHS and 4 tons of SRM ammo you can keep your guns firing.
The SRMs and Medium lasers allow you to brawl to your hearts content, the 400 XL engine however, will not, but you will be able to always lead the charge to victory!

Fast for an Assault with high-mounted lasers and good cooling. Two sets of 3 x LL puts out a lot of damage quickly.

My modest contribution:

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...8b684f079b1aab2

It is just plain fun. close range brawler, stocked full of SRMs 2 LPL and 2 MPL. ver 80 dmg alpha and just a little beast. I am a noob in this game but I can reach 1k damage with it. It has AMS to protect your approach.

This build can go toe to toe with anything on a 1vs1 including Atlases (though it does not look pretty afterwards...).

Just my 2cts.

This is the best, simple BLR build I know. Does exactly what the BLR was made to do, with more speed and more armor. Three weapon groups: the PPC, tbe MG's and the ML's, then a fourth chain firing the ML's if you want. This is one of the best mechs I've ever played. Also, plenty of back armor for the inexperienced player.

Battlemaster 1S

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...66721107eb7571d

-4xLPL
-XL375 Engine
-21 Double Heatsinks

With good torso twisting you can last an extremely long time, and effectively become a faster, better armored, and more heavily armed Champion Thunderbolt. The high mounted chest hardpoints allow easy hill peaking as well.

2xERL ( Its always good idea to have 2 ERL on Assaults because of Alpine,Polar,Tourmaline and Canyon )
Battlemaster has high Energy Hardpoints so you will get a lot of free poking with ERL .

4xMedium Laser ( Close range low heat DPS ) You need these to combat light mechs and its good DPS booster in close range .

2XAC5+3.5 tons ammo ( Brawler and Mid Range DPS ) I rarely run out of AC5 ammo but I know when not to spam. If this is a problem you can dump 1 medium to get +1 ton . If you running out of 4 tons of AC5 ammo you probably missing the target or spamming it at the wrong distance .

1AMS +1ton ammo ( Always worth 1.5 tons in my opinion )

5DHS ( You can do a 3 ERL version of this build by removing 1 AC5 , in which case you will need to aim for 7DHS ) Otherwise 2ERL+4 mediums is easy to manage by shooting AC5 when overheating .

STD 300 ( its 61 kmp with speed tweak which is enough for me , you can squeeze bigger engine by removing AMS, or 1AC5 and replace it with Large or Medium laser)

Modules: AC5 Cooldown,ERL Cooldown, Deprivation

I like my mechs to be versatile so I don't end up on Large maps without ERL or small maps without AC5.

Having both AC5 and ERL is what allows you to play on any map and do a lot of damage .
