So maybe a wierd glitch or some new feature.
We're fighting on Polar Highlands in a regular match and both sides have discos. Mid-game,1 of our scouts gets killed by the enemy DropShip coming in to drop a fresh mech. Yeah, we thought he was pranking us.
Then the DropShip came back late game with another enemy mech! We all saw that one.
14 kills for our side but HUH????

Never seen such a thing, although my Warhammer does bounce off the dropship sometimes when it starts to fall

We're thinking it was the discos joining up...but a fresh drop instead of the disco just standing there after the first mass drop?

If that is the case..I like it!!! I would love to see dropships fire on enemy mechs in non-CW games.

We need PvE elements in the maps.
Tanks, turrets, air support, AI controlled artillery, dropship bombardment, ammo re-supply, repair depo, sat map all linked to buildings/cap points on different points of the map. Make map control a thing with risk/reward and not this 'all hands to the middle for mass fubar' tactic we have now.
Conquest should easily be the best game mode.

When the new Caustic Valley was added the dropships flew across the map (sometimes shooting enemy mechs) crossing oposing team dropzone. That was way more interesting to see overflying dropships than parrallel drop we see now. I think if those dropships fired at each other (maybe downing a random one off-map via script) that would've been a nice intro and an explanation why the drop if face to face and niether one of them provides cover fire to the landing party.
