I ran THIS in FP for about 4 months straight. Enjoyed it a lot.

Or you can do THIS

or THIS (a bit hot, gotta shoot/move a lot and cool)

I run 2 PPC's + 2 ac5's, XL-265, 3 1/5 tons ammo, and a heat sink. You can lower armor a little and squeeze in an extra heat sink. It runs a little on the hot side, but it is a really strong longer range build. I enjoy it every time i run it.

CPLT-K2 BladeRunner

Hit & Run. Move around, take position, choose target, hit & run... repeat.

Not that I own a CPT, but that seems like a really small amount of weaponry on that one. Seems like something like CPLT-K2 would be better, if significantly hotter. It also seems like large lasers would be worth considering too CPLT-K2. I just think a STD engine of that size takes up way too much tonnage that could be used for weapons.

Well, IF you are looking for a short ranged catapult model, my build is this. http://mwo.smurfy-ne...874226299ba8511
Admittedly, it isn't a K4, it's a CPTL-C4, but it is my personal favourite version.

Oddly, it did well.
Since then I ran a AC20 + 4MLs. Did just as well.

There are times I just will not run XL for certain reasons due to how XL works.
I will not run XL on a Crab because it works much better tanking damage on those long side torsos.
I do not here since the K2 I have seems to take more damage on sides also.
Despite weight savings, some builds are not worth using XL especially ones made for short ranges and I find myself in there a lot.

Yeah, your right. Maybe xl engine's aren't for close range.
(I'm addicted to speed in game at the moment)

Here's a classic CPLT-K2 with dual AC10s. I haven't updated the build for Skill Trees yet, but it's a tried and true bruiser.

P.S. You can do a similar dual AC builds with a couple of the Bushwacker variants if you prefer to run a medium chassis. The BSW's armor quirks tend to make up for the lighter weight.

I ran that for a while and also did ac10 and 4MPLs which is also a tad hot but fun. also agree that catapults are not xl friendly if planning to use in a more brawly fashion.

I find my 2xAC-10, 2xMPL K2 is about the most fun mech in the game for me. It doesn't tank damage well but the 32pt alpha and low heat is tons of fun when seeking weak spots. It's small enough that it doesn't get much attention next to most heavies and assaults.

I put on endosteel and double heatsinks with 2x med pulse a large pulse and a AC 20. very effective for me. Took on a Pulse TBR in a brawl. Took it out easily.

So I upgraded my 2x AC10s to 2x UAC10s (with a small engine reduction) and it is just a ball of fun.

Saw quite a few K2s with various bits of Civil War tech last night. Looks like the timeline advancement has been very kind to the catapults.

Haven't taken any of them live yet but:
- 2x PPC and 2x RAC2
- 2x LPPC and 2x RAC5
- 2x L Gauss and 2x ERML

Debating a variation on stock.
Tad hot but the PPC damage is in arms for ridge humping and the MLs + LMGs could be put into one group due to range sync for simplicity.
Seems actually useful for HPPCs that I cannot find another Mech to use on.
I could drop the engine to a 285LFE for 2 more DHS.

2xPPC+2LPPC vs 2xHPPC - slightly colder and less cooldown
