SPIRIT BEAR

MURDER BEAR
High Alpha, good DPS, not so great cooling

MURDER BEAR 2.0
Moderate Alpha, amazing DPS, decent cooling

MURDER BEARSHOT
When you want murderbear and buckshot cannon to go hand-in-hand to catch the gingerbread man.

KDK-3

DAKKA BEAR
Primarily focused on suppressive fire. The only other clan mech that can field 4 UAC-5's aside from the D-Wolf.

BEARSHOT
I couldn't resist. 4 LB-10X cannons with the biggest possible engine.

BEARSHOT 2.0
Slightly slower, but with more ammo and some backup lazors.

KDK-2

DROP BEAR
More for the twisty jumpiness than anything else. Class I jump jets are heavy as hell.

DROP BEAR 2.0
Still has a jump jet, but more towards the laser vomit config.

DROP BEAR MOD 0
Config for matched range profile with better cooling than DB 1.

KDK-1

FUZZY WUBBY
A fun, if hot as hell, brawly loadout for the KDK-1

BEARCLAW
A more gauss-vomit oriented config, with a semi-mixed range profile that leans towards mid-long range combat, for the KDK-1

My Dakka Bear is slightly different. If you have ferro fibrous armour it gives you a little more space for more ammo and a couple more heatsinks.

Yep, I may actually have to buy this package now. I am really liking what I see on the battlefield and what I can do in Smurphy's.

I can build brawlers with high alpha and high DPS, UAC10 Dakka looks awesome. I can build long range mechs that are decently cool. And best of all they all can travel at 60+ kph!

I have done many builds in smurphy's that I think would work well, but I have theory crafted on for the Spirit Bear that seems very viscous to me.
I ditched the MASC, and went with an XL375. It will run a bit hot but is definitely managable after unlocking double basics with a 35% heat efficiency. The two large pulse lasers would be great for medium range poking and when used by themselves are 80% heat efficient. And when someone does get close you can put them in your rotation, but keep the UAC20 peppering them while unleashing your SRM24!

If chained and grouped right I believe you could fire almost constantly without shutting down. Well until you run out of ammo.

These things just look great!

DROP BEAR CLASS II
Updated to my current build for the Drop Bear. Can swap UAC-20 for Gauss to run cooler.

GRIZZLY DAKKA
Another build we were testing yesterday in the FFI fields. Performs admirably.

FUZZY WUBBY 2.0
Build idea for brutal face-melting.

SMOKEY BEAR
When you want to have the upper hand on hot maps, even if you, yourself, are hot stuff.

That looks to be rather hot.... How have you been using it? I'm not entirely keen on using all MPLs on a 100 ton assault. I feel like I still want a bit more speed or range for good measure.

I swapped out the UAC-20 for Gauss. Might go 2LPL+3MLas + Gauss

Truth be told, all Kodiaks run really hot, except the quad ballistic setups.

It should be noted, that this is how you play Kodiak currently... The XL400 has some sort of electromagnetic bullet feature or something.

Anyone thinks of a LRM spirit bear?
44.5t available: (with ferro)

18t: 4 LRM10 + 8t ammo
8t: 2 ER large laser
18.5t: Gauss + 3.5t ammo

would be a fast long range mech, very good for alpine and polar

Ive actually seen people build in lrms in the spirit bear. Thats like the worst thing you can do, its evenly stupid as putting lrms on an Atlas, King Crab or Mauler, these Mechs are meant to go first into the fight and tank what would kill other mechs instantly, if you put lrms on these, they stay back, may do a lot of damage, but that damage simply doesnt count as real damage since no skill is required for it. If the Kodiaks stay back, who will take the Damage? whoever does, he will get rekt by the enemys spirit bear with real weaponery: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...0c3cf1d93c25240
There are Mechs that fit lrms, Catapult C1, C4, maybe A1, but I would rather put srm36 with artemis in it, Hunchback 4J, some TBT´s, and even a Stalker (very rare lrm assault), you can put lrms on Mad Dogs, Timbers, I dont mind, but I think they can fit better builds. But if you put Lrms on a Kodiak, Atlas, King Crab, Mauler or something like that, sorry, but in my opinion you havent understood the game at all yet.

Okay, but since this is a thread with Kodiak-Build-thoughts, here are mine:

Kodiak 1 (/S): KDK-1

Dont really know what to put in the Kodiak-2 yet

Kodiak 3: KDK-3

It's very creative and a step away from the emerging quad uac10 meta, but I wouldn't run it personally and I think you know why.

This is what I run.
Who need speed if you can reach out with erPPC.
But still pack the required 4x SRM6A against enemy that try to rush the PPC mech.
LBX10 for abit of heat management and mid range attack.

SPIRIT BEAR
