1 Gauss, 2 LPL's, and 1 Medium laser. This build has a very lenient heat curve, while providing excellent Hill-Peek ability due to the high mounts on the LPL and Gauss, the ability to trade well at long ranges, and a strong alpha strike for shorter ranges.
EDIT: Link seems to have broken. fixed now.

I use this build on my EBJ a lot. Usually get 500 - 700 dmg a game. I put the left and right arm to 1 and 2, the medium lasers in the side torsos to 3 and the large lasers to 4, Firing them in those groups individually keeps the mech fairly cool while having a fairly high damage output.

I run something similar but with LBX cluster ammo instead of standard on my AC/5s, and 3 med las instead of 6 small. AC/5s are great on the EBJ!

Reason: Must be cool (45%) and can use its speed to get close. New players need something capable of pushing as the peek-a-boo is not easy to do for them, esp. in an unleveled Jag.

This is my bread-and-butter Cauldron-Born, and probably both my favorite 'Mech overall and my most dangerous. Li'l Susan runs really hot for people who're undisciplined with lasers, but she has a ferocious stab when she needs it. I run Susan as a poker, relying on the autocannons when I can to plink out damage, keep heads down, and generally cause mischief until I have a good shot for the lasers. The five tons of Quack ammo is somewhat slim, but I find it to be sufficient for ninety percent of my fights. The arm and torso lasers are in separate groups; while I do not recommend extended dogfighting with Li'l Susan, she can hold her own for a short time in a close fight with careful staggering of her weapons.
She works best as an ambush predator, favoring maneuvering and positioning skills more than twitch reflexes. So long as her cannons don't jam up, Susan can drill through a center torso with breathtaking speed, clawing up the armor with her cannons before stabbing her target through the heart with her lasers. You're not going to win staring contests with Dire Whales...but I've made Whales blink first when I surprise one, or find one with a soft chest.
