For those of you who think I'm trolling or being funny, look at the other people in this thread who won't be able to take part in the event as well. I'm dead freaking serious here. I'm not the only one who's getting 'run under by an UrbanMech' (yeah, why not state that in a MechWarrior style...) here. I'm not the only one who has to 'compete for'/'share' computer usage and time, and/or doesn't have full control of when they get on to play MWO and participate in events. Not everyone has a perfect life, and I'm a little sick of the rudeness from those that do. Hell, my previous post was typed while I was already angry at my body over being knocked asleep at the wrong times from several things, not limited to but including MWO's rather poorly and coldly set-up events. People should NEVER have to sacrifice sleep to have enough time to participate in an event and have any chance at all of completing it. But PGI keeps trying to force time compression on people, even if their bodies and minds simply can't handle it. Thus, you end up with people as angry as I get. You also get a whole lot of angry happening because PGI simply doesn't get it through their overly thick skulls, and that they should have already realized that they NEED to provide more time on events for people with unfortunate situations. Until they do this, there will always be more complaints than there should have to be.
All I'm asking for, and I'm already seeing other people need, is to simply have enough time that we're not getting stomped by the feet of a Dire Wolf with a Temporal (as in clocks, like a "TARDIS" from "Doctor Who") Camouflage. That REALLY should not be too much to damn well ask. And if it is, then I'm sure that I'm not the only one who feels that PGI should be rethinking their strategies in regard to these events during a year. People should never be excluded because Real Life conflicts completely with an event that PGI sets up. Or does PGI really want the bad Public Relations due to their lack of Common Sense?

(p.s.: I think I just gave PGI a nice idea for a new Camo for everyone to possibly acquire.)

Also answering seriously: These events (or incentives) take place to attract people to this game who otherwise wouldn't play (because christmas or valentinesday or work or whatever). No point in giving incentives if everybody is already playing and paying.
Please don't tell me you were not aware of this.

Dude, you really need to lighten up. PGI does not force you to play the game at all! They certainly don't force you sacrifice sleep or time with your family either. If you did sacrifice sleep time, it would be entirely your personal choice of priorities.
Everyone here missed out on challenges because they were unable to play the game during a particular weekend. I personally missed out on both Tukayyid events that seemed to have been a blast according to my unit and the people on these forums.
Additonally, take note that although most events do, not all of them last only a weekend. There have been several challenges already that ran in the middle of the week or an entire week.
If you cannot participate in this weekend's challenge, you certainly will have the chance to participate in another future challenge.
Oh and by the way: You don't even know what prices you are missing out on. All that rage and high blood pressure for what potentially might just be a bunch of small lasers or single heat sinks?

Loyalty [L] 'Mechs, Gold [G] 'Mechs, and Origins [O] 'Mechs all qualify.
And as Matt said Trial Champions also qualify for the Champion component.
Just to be sure. What about Steam mechs? They also have [S] pointer.

Okay, so I've got two people here that I can cover with one reply.
I should probably note, I'm rather new to this edition of MechWarrior. Just take a look at my Join Date. There's already a bit of a set of community groups that doesn't take well to players not already being "up to level" with them. I'm feeling pressured to play because I need everything I can get in order to catch up, but I just don't have the $$$ to spend to get anything I want/need. I really want (and in some odd ways, need) to be able to enjoy the game, but I keep running into mental walls created by running out of resources while getting everything tuned up. So I'm literally in need of every event I can complete. But I'm not the only one, because there are many other players out there just starting out and running into these same issues. It's not even a matter of personal choice or priorities anymore, as there's definitely a hidden set of divides in this game's community, and I've become caught in the middle of many of them all too quickly. If I go and dare to say "Screw them.", then I'm effectively set-up to get trapped in a set of players who are forever excluded from most of the fun. At which point, this game becomes unenjoyable, much like RuneScape (whose name still makes me angry, even today, so I really loathe mentioning it) became to me before I quit that piece of junk. Maybe some of you have been in this same bad situation as me before?
I've even seen listings of some builds that I might like to spend time trying, but I lack the resources to actually do so. (Thanks, mikerso!!!) And that's even though I'm not particularly into what's called 'Meta-builds', because I tend to be the exception to the rules in terms of Mech setups. Seems like everyone thinks you must only Brawl these days, when there are more roles in playing this game than just that. I myself happen to be a Support/Sniper, with a little of Scout/Brawler mixed in where it's absolutely unavoidable due to the enemy having chased me down. But again, yet another divide that it's on me to overcome, because the world simply doesn't revolve around me. Thus another reason for people to be mad at PGI for leaving the situation to have ever occurred. I would probably have more to say right now, but Real Life has decided to come along and bump my brain totally off-track, which is kind of unfortunate because I still feel like I haven't put enough of the point forward to the rest of you.

K, dude. Here's the thing.
There's an event every weekend. If you can't make some, that's fine. Don't. This is just a game, it's not important. It's only entertainment. I mean this totally seriously here: You really, really need to set some boundaries and priorities, and relax. Seriously.
Look, I get it. I do. I'm a husband, and a father of two very young children. I work 12 hour shifts, with rotating shift work. I love this game, really enjoy playing it, and I'm a completionist at heart. But I'd guess fully half of the events that happen - even ones I really would like to play - I can't find the time to log in and play a single match. Not one. And that's ok. I'd like to play, but when all is said and done, it's just a game and not important. I'm not going to sacrifice time with the wife or kids, or sleep between shifts, or whatever else to play. So, my Profile>Challenges page has huge swafts of uncompleted challenges scattered through it. Sad, but whatever. Still, it's got nothing at all to do with PGI.
But you know what? The time I can't play just makes the time I can more fun. Less burn out, more anticipation.
However, ranting off at PGI every time your life prevents you from playing in one of their events? That makes you look like an as***le. Don't do that. It's neither PGI's fault nor PGI's problem.
