Saw the patch video on the new flamer buffs. I am so happy, they look a lot cooler and their potential value has increased tremendously. People are complaining about the flamer having reduced in DPS and still being hot to use, but seriously, get a Firestarter, let a brawl ensue, light a few mechs on fire and you have 2-3 enemies who can't fire at your team in the midst of the brawl due to overheating. Oh yes, I am very very very happy for this.

Holy crapsauce those 4 Flamers got him to 90% heat almost instantly.

Yup, my prediction about a Flamer nerf is definitely going to come true.

Besides that, I think the new effect looks a little weird...it seems a bit too transparent and "ghosty." It doesn't look like it's really firing a stream of plasma so much as flashing some strobe lights.

EDIT: Was that the stock build using SHS? That might explain how his heat climbed so fast...

Anyone want to test Flamers shortly after the patch?

I've got a lot of spare time this week.

Wow, those new flamer visuals suck. They look less like flamers and more like heat guns. The blinding effect was pretty neat and could be used to cover your retreat

Will the 13 flamer finally nova finally make a triumphant return?

Surely there's a cap on how many flamers can add heat at a time, because one tap from your mouse button and they're at 90% heat and you can move on to your next victim.

4 flamers on the ember and that other mech was 90% in few seconds. There is no way this is going to last. They're going to nerf it.

I'm assuming it's a stock Roflman with 10 SHS and no XP tree stuff unlocked, so I think that normal mechs in normal matches will take a bit longer than that...but it will still probably be rather quick.

we also dont know how much Heat the FireStarter was Generating as well,
remember they changed the Heat for Flamers to Start at 4sec instead of 6,
so with 4 flamers the Exponential Heat may have started after maybe 1sec,

Heh, I read those patch notes and thought of testing. Thought of you right after. I'd be down for that, been looking forward to flamer change and I'd like to see how the new changes work

Yea it looks like a Tiger torch flame. The kind that you would hook up to a propane tank. I like it better than our current campfire flames though lol

All I can say is, is this going to worth it to carry 1 tonne for a weapon with 90m range, does effectively 0 damage and requires constant facetime?
