FRR would be pretty much nothing, it only had 7 worlds left after Tukayyid and didn't gain any until formally merging with the Ghost Bear Dominion. If you removed the Jaguars, you'd just keep their territory as Kurita (except a Nova Cat prefecture if you wanted to include them and the ARDC).

The Hell's Horses would actually be a good "partner" for the Bears if you stuck with the Jaguar/Cat and Falcon/Viper pairings since they had a serious rivalry. The Wolves though... their biggest rivals are the Falcons and Wolves-in-Exile. Well and the Widowmakers but they took care of them in the backstory.

The alliances is an interesting idea - the Sharks would make good partners for the Falcons then since they did work together, and the Ravens for the Bears. In that case Clan Coyote would be a good partner for the Wolves even though they didn't support Operation Revival. The problem though is that the Nova Cat/Smoke Jaguar rivalry is pretty important to the lore and nobody really likes the Jaguars. But if we're throwing out the invasion corridor partners from the lore anyway...

That is a rather interesting take on it either Rivals or Allies though the ONLY Faction that has an issue is Smoke Jaguar and Nova Cat both of which really dont have many friends later on but also shared the same space as implied so it would be an interesting subject of HOW to deal with that one. The other 3 Big Clans one have a distinct ally and rival to work with.

Both are good tangents to go with to introduce other clans though. I wont be switching from Ghost Bear but others would be very welcome and new Camo's would be interesting as well. Along with New Faction content they could offer in packages. Like IF they did the Mad Cat Mk.II they should give it with Diamond Shark Camo.

Serious question, how many of you pushing for the MK. II are going to just rip the missiles out right away?

I see very few Mad Cat's with the missile pods still attached. I see very few Warhammers running PPC's

Both very iconic, both a shadow of their former selves.

The thing is: I've never seen the MK. II as iconic. If anything it just borrowed from the original's notoriety without offering anything unique. The word uninspired comes to mind.

There are so many better mechs out there that we can add.

It's the fast, jump capable, Clan dual Gauss Assault Mech. That's what it's famous for. Though important for the distinctive look and displaying Timberwolf "DNA", the LRM racks are just for flavour.

That's an awfully specific list of things that it's "the" Mech for. Make sure you include every one of those modifiers so the Executioner and Stone Rhino can't apply. Posted Image

You'd have trouble with the Wolves too. Their biggest enemies in this time period are the Falcons and Jaguars (already included) and their biggest allies are the Coyotes who shouldn't be in the IS.

Good thing the lore has nothing to do with mechs being sold or piloted in MWO...

That's the reason people use it in MW4, where it was released.

Going off tangent, I'd love to have this Mech in a game which uses less modified TT rules, like the upcoming BattleTech game or maybe another MechCommander. The reason is that Gauss is indeed a devastating weapon using the TT rules.

Yes, yes dual Gauss is devastating, but I fear a dual torso mounted UAC/20 Mech with a hatchet in one hand with MASC or TSM....

Seems legit. I guess someone hasn't been paying attention. Lore is the primary reason Russ doesn't want to give you your MkII any time soon. Seems pretty important to the guy pulling the strings.

And why is that? Because the latter doesn't exist (in MWO)?

*shrug* The most annoying thing about this push for the MkII is that it's spearheaded by folks who are the first to say "I don't want the mech you're championing to be in the game because there is already a mech that's in the game now - in the same class and maybe even tonnage - that can do the same builds better."

And yet, when it comes to the MkII, they won't even mention that little fact and will instead talk about aesthetics and being "Iconic," which it maybe was for like, 2 years in the history of the franchise. Rather than "iconic," I think the word we're looking for is "ironic."

If I want to run a build with gauss and a spread of lasers, I'll probably just stick to the better mechs already in the game for that.

i can kinda see your point. Its really all up to russ and crew, just this rinse and repeat of threads does get old.

Also It always has come down to that. "Always a mech that does this better then this mech." worse with the competitive group. Gotta leave russ to pick whatever he wants to pick and not go on a full on crusade about it. If he asks then respond in kind.

I want this mech cause it was the Mech I attached my self to when I was young and was my first taste of Battletech and Mechwarrior? I liked it in MW4 the layout, the loadout, the form? Sorry geez cause that is something SO terrible to have for a mech! Do we know anyone others on this forum who have an obsession with mechs because they were from their first games or TT days?

I can say HEY I WANT THIS MECH BECAUSE ITS COOL sure....But the real meat to the dev's is what it offers to the game and profit. And for the Game...This does offer quite a bit more then probably 85% of other mechs chassis to choose from that are left and give the CLANS a decent mech....Many know it stop acting dumb to that fact. Some just troll with this and act this way......Did I not write a whole post with load outs? Cosmetics? Did I not try to make a good concept? Scarecrow I cant tell if you are so arrogant or trolling at this point. Either way its getting old....You dont know everything and many of your theroies and thought process is out of line for what everyone else feels and thinks about with this mech. IF you have NOTHING better to say please stop posting nonsense.

THE SKY IS BLUE AND GRASS IS GREEN....WATER IS WET. Mad Cat Mk.II is Clan END OF DISCUSSION

I couldn't give a toss about the Mad Cat Mkii, but if it being added would give me the option to have Clan Diamond Shark camo? Well, let me just say you'd be putting me in a really tough spot.

I don't know about the people you are talking about but, we still don't have any Assault which can do comfortably what the Mad Cat Mk. II can, namely: dual Gauss, lasers (4 on this Mech), and being able to jump while still moving at ~70 kph. The original Mad Cat can do it but with many limitations being 15 tons lighter and not a BattleMech. The Assault version also has better hardpoint locations.

But that's my secondary reason for wanting the Assault Cat although I know that it won't be happening any time soon. I want it primarily because it just looks cool!

Yeah, maybe as an April Fool's prank.

I can imagine you rocking silently in a padded room tied up in a straight jacket muttering:

The Mad Cat II is coming. Santa is real. I'm not crazy.

Over and over.
