So with what you say, screw the ones who liked MW4? Nice to know we can be open minded here and appropriate others opinions...So the mechs we liked we should never get cause the ones that didn't like the game deserve to decide?

Okay I realize I came off as a jerk, and for that I apologize.

To be totally clear, I am not saying screw the people who like MW4. I mean...at least they like a MechWarrior game at all, even if it the one I dislike the most.
In MW4 the models were awful, the graphics managed to be worse than MW3, and the voice "acting" was some of the **worst*** I've heard in a game (except for Duncan Fisher -- that dude was cool!). BUT MW4 **did** get hardpoints right, and I really, really liked that and know it pushed the series in the right direction in that regard.

As for adding MC Mk2, if it's timeline has come, then I'm all for it, BUT I am absolutely not for pushing the timeline hard to the right just to appease anyone's want for a new mech. Just take an Executioner and build a make-shift MC MkII from that.

Back when I first started playing MWO I wanted the Timberwolf so bad I took a Catapult and kind of made a Timberwolf Prime. Not exactly meta but it was FUN. And then Thunderbolts came out and even though the cockpit was on the wrong side I made Summoner Primes. Again, not meta, but definitely fun.

Anyhow...the MC MKII will eventually come out. Good things come to those who wait.

Coming from the person who doesn't know how lights work and only wants more worthless assaults that will act the same as any other. Mad Cat Mk II will be nothing but a rehash. Nothing new to add especially after Marauder IIC and Supernova come.

Not following you. You just make it really easy.

Whatever you say.

Not sure if you understand hard-point location but Superharambe and the Harambe IIC both lack something.

See I don't even know why you're trying to fight me, because the Mad Cat MK II is coming to MWO. I just want it in MWO sooner than later. I'm not fighting to get the mech in.

i love how this thread evolved into a "is mc2 a clan or is mech?" debate.
especially when it's on a forum for a game where:

- clanners drop freely with spheroids
- clan mechs are nowhere near as powerful as in the lore
- clanners don't even have different squad sizes compared to is
- maulers time travelled back in time

why are we arguing about lore in a game which has thrown lore out the window a long time ago? haha

Those same people think MWO also has a timeline.

The same people were saying the Nova Cat would be an IS mech only as well in FW. The argument was stupid at best.

Anyway, I think I might have a surprise coming for Mad Cat Mk.II fans everywhere, keep eyes peeled in battletech art pages :)

How did with all this Mk II hype....how did we miss these from IWM?!?

Mad Cat Mk. II 4 This variant of the Mad Cat carries two ER Large Lasers in each arm and a pair of LRM-15 launchers. A Light Active Probe identifies hidden units. It retains the 120 meter jump radius of the base model.

Mad Cat Mk. II 5 This variant carries a Gauss Rifle in the right arm, supported by an Improved Heavy Large Laser and Improved Heavy Medium Laser in the left arm. Six Improved Jump Jets allow it to cover 180 meters at a time.

So for sure we would get the 1&2 but for say PGI making up the rest what would be a good base to go off of? Take maybe the MAD IIC approach and look at Timberwolfs? Like the Prime, C, & S? Or The A and D? Hero options?

I feel that even though what I say is probably going to be insignificant, I might as well put my voice out anyway.

I read almost all of this post today (R.I.P. afternoon...) out of my own curiosity. I grew up watching my Dad and older brother playing MechWarrior 4, and the Mad Cat MK II was always the 'Mech that stood out to me, and I can't exactly say why. As a result, I personally would really like to see this in game, all timeline/reasoning/other people aside.

I appreciate how, at least for a reasonable portion, you have managed to lead a fairly non aggressive post CK16. It has been a good measure of how many people are for the idea of the addition, against it, or simply are neutral on the subject.

There has also been a fair amount of both good and bad evidence to either implement or not implement the big kitty into the game, but my take on it (yes, nostalgia is a factor, and I will apologize for it) is that even though it breaks timeline, the loadouts that CK16 has so kindly put together for the lot of us doesn't really break tech. Because of this, I believe that this 'mech would fit fine into current MWO.

Now, timeline wise this is much past what we have gotten, and -generally speaking- the 'mechs released are timeline appropriate. However, there are variants that never existed until LONG into the future, but since the tech from the 'mech would fit, did it really matter?

And to those of you who are strictly against it and are stating "None of this Mad Cat MKII crap, I'd rather have _______ in the game instead!" Um, alright? But is it so much of a sin for us to say we would like 'our' favorite 'mech in the game? Personally, I never much cared for the Kodiak. Did I go find a thread where people were speaking about having it added and say "No screw you, I want ____ !"

Ok some people did but that's almost a given for any situation.

Regardless, while I didn't much care for the Kodiak, I still would look into it, look at the pros/cons people had to say, and even if I didn't feel one way or the other for the Bear to be put in, why would it matter if it was or wasn't? Maybe someone like me grew up looking at the Kodiak with starry eyes as a kid and wanted it in this game. Who am I to say no? We all have our desires and why should anyone be against that.

The only reason I would ever say "No, for the love of all things holy DON'T PUT THAT INTO THE GAME" would be if previous experience, or at least stated evidence shows that it could not be implemented without horribly breaking mechanics. The Mad Cat MK II doesn't really do that.

Last note, if it doesn't perform well in game, I don't know if I'll even care. So what if it is able to be shot easily? I'm enjoying myself. If I spend money for something in game it's because I want to have fun, not because it will be ultra powerful or anything. I bought the Supernova with the mindset of "This probably won't be amazing, but hey it looks neat".

To wrap this crap up, while yeah, some people don't really care one way or another, my personal vote is to have this big cat in the game.

Also, nice work on the builds and drawn designs, CK16.

Imperius, good luck on your wild crusade. Make sure to treat people with respect and more people might play along.

To those bashing Imperius, treat him with respect and we can all at least pretend to get along, he's just one guy fighting a company for a toy he wants in game.

Don't take that last note too seriously, I wanted to end this with as much of a joke I can muster.

I still say she should be re-worked to be an 85t Omni....

make her a true successor to the Timby.... Not some bastardized inferior Battlemech that is too heavy.

Spoiler

See just as mean as the 90t version, with more efficiency... something Clanners would be all over....

Well, it is an inferior product. So inferior it's even renamed to avoid disgracing the real Timber Wolf.

Oh no, the little fishy is angry at me. I suppose you would be familiar with the concept of renaming things, but I thought you justified it by choosing the superior of the two options?

Then again, the way you waffle back and forth makes me wonder if you'll be offering a "Timber Wolf MkIII" for sale some day.

Educate yourself in the basics of marketing. More people know the term Mad Cat than Timber Wolf, so of course we would use that name when trying to sell a product.
