What happened is he got slapped in the face by the reality that he isn't as good as he thought he was by playing against low skill players.

The difference between a noob and a vet is that the vet always has a plan, like trying to get in a good position, but things beyond your control still happen. Started on Viridian Bog east side today, in a HBK-4P, and ran for the C4/D4 high ground with an ACH. We caught a Shadow Cat that had jumped up there from the west side, and he died due to no fault of his own. Sure, he could've just rolled with the deathball and been safe in that situation, but he died for what was a pretty low-risk move just because something random happened.
An experienced player wants to make an impact which also means dealing with certain degree of risk. The better you are, the more accurately you're able to assess any given situation. The opposite is timid players who are afraid to fight, and ultimately lose games due to having such a low impact when it matters. And yes, anybody can make dumb mistakes but with experience that becomes an exception rather than the norm. You put 24 players in a game and someone is bound to fk up, no matter good they are.
Actually, that's how I feel the progress of a player goes. A new player will just suicide a lot due to lack of experience. After learning all the ways you can die, the player becomes more careful, but overly so. Then, over time you start dialing in the aggression once you learn which risks are worth taking. I'm currently trying to learn light mechs. They're quite tricky because you want to be roaming to be most effective, but still have to remember you're not a separate entity from your team, your leash is merely longer due to greater speed.

Elo took W/L in to consideration but I don't believe PSR does. It's supposed to be equal skill on each side every match from what I understand.

Maybe players could get all crazy like movie goers, shoppers before a sale, or Iphone users or COD players and camp outside the MechWarrior Online office until "phase 3" is out.

Every game I've played this weekend, has had idiots refuse to group or even press R.

I feel your pain having lost nearly every game I played today. If you can find fun in a losing game then its ok. Be the annoying light mech that kills an assault or two by being a sneaky bugger. Or do the most damage in a loss.

Poor ums. No Tryhards holding your hand anymore? Moved up out of tierr 5 noob farm? Carry harder.
For once got to disagree with your observation. Ive had the same thing happen to me, just didnt post on forum about it. Would get 2-4 days of half decent to good teams, getting lots of good close games and some face rolls. Then next thing I know I log in and my next 15 matches are all the other side winning by 8+ Kills. Watching Teammates ignore obvious things any player should of picked up in their first 10-15 games. In Tier 3 and lower, these are the only tiers Ive personally had any experience in, You will a lot of times get team after team of what I call "Potatos". Not just they arnt trying but obvious stupid play. Im not here to always win, but when I see for the 8th time a teammate doing stupid stuff it just gets extremely infuriating.

Exactly.
What we should be doing is insulting him for being what I can only assume is an adult that throws a fit over stats.

It is an issue for those who had previously been hanging on the coattails of their unit members in the group queue.

<I'm not necessarily saying the OP is such a person.>

I'm 289/287... if only I was at a 2:1 ratio,
Just scratching the surface there. Was playing when we were just using the ELO setup. My K/D is abysmal. These days I mainly do CW. Here is my current K/D 1,567/2,569

But ya see, that's the point.
It does happen. To pretty much all of us. But 99.9% of us don't feel the need to make special princess rant threads about it. I'm just calling the OPs bluff.

I'm pretty equal opportunity. I don't care what tier a person is (though will mention if relevant). It's the whiny butthurt that I feel obligated to mock. When "grown ups" throw hissy fits about video games, well I just feel they deserve any ridicule they get.

Fool! you cant give up now! Get back in that pilot seat and fight the good fight dammit!. Dont worry about your damn KDR dont worry about the losses, fight cause you love to pilot that guilty pleasure mech. Use that Voip and take charge and command those pleblords to do your bidding. You must get better to succeed! Your drill is the drill that will pierce the heavens!

Just take a breather. Step away from the game for a day, shake it off, and return with renewed vigor. The path to Tier 1 is not for the faint of heart, it takes perseverance. Ganbatte!
