Okay, not at all confirmed, but I made you look! Posted Image

(I know...I know...I'm so very much dead slag next time someone from the forums sees me in-game...but it makes dying so much funnier when I know I deserved it)

p.s. On a more serious note, I hope we get nail polish for Kodiak claws. Would fit in nicely with Bishop's whole plan for carebear mechs. Maybe some lipstick too. OH, and we must have a tiara so my teddy bear can be a pretty princess!

How do I down vote OP

To get melee in, you need to solve the code for collissions. We don't have knockdowns because we will only overcomplicate the problems already existing with rubberbanding and teleporting.

And the problem isn't only that it is difficult to code - the problem is that we do not have a perfect network with perfect ping running with top-spec user owned computers.

I dont know, hope the engine update will be miraculous?

Exactely what I mean: looks childish.
That it exists (more like "existed") in Battletech is not a strong argument.
I remember when the Griffin held a Sword in Crescent Hawk's Revenge.
Since then, melee more and more disappears from Battletech.
Just look at how many games included melee compared to how many did not.
Why: because it's childish. It doesn't fit respectable war mashines.
It is a children's fantasy.

warmachines like Tanks not fantasy ,and Tanks have no Melee weapons
Exosceletons not Fantasy, and battlemechs great 10m Exosceletons...melee weapons in modern Mech Battles =Science fantasy what doing a Mech with Melee weapons against Aerospacefighters or Yellow jacket Helicopters with Gauss ?

To say that you are mistaken would be a gross underestimation.

Melee has been present in BattleTech since the very first TRO (Technical Readout: 3025 had Hatchetman in it).

And that Melee more and more disappears? Seriously? Brand new TROs have 'Mechs such as Neanderthal, Hitotsume Kozo, Shiro or Sarath and many others.

What are you talking about? Melee has always played an important role in battletech and its fiction and its continued on for years in both the novels and the universe. (some would argue too much.)

Melee as a bipedal tank was never ideal in MW games, but just like CQC in infantry fighting is important, so has Melee always been in battletech. It never disappeared after Cresent hawks, and there are tons of instances in the fiction where a good swift kick to the face changed the universe forever. (Its how Natasha Kerensky finally bit the big one.)

Its never been the MAIN aspect of BT, and even the Close quarter specialists where just that... Specialists. But to say it had no active role in the universe post cresent hawks games is just a flat out lie.

here's what I don't get though, I play many online games that have collisions. Why is it possible there but not here?

Well, for starters, the biggest obstacle I can forsee that would get interfere with the possibility that we could think about maybe making changes that perhaps have externalities that would digress us from proper synergizing of the rationality of our reasoning and furthermore, many sesquapedaleans used improperly to create a verbose and obfuscating annulment of pretention and justifications.
