I'm looking forward to it. Three intriguing variants (counting the Hero) is pretty good value for a pack... most of the time we have to be satisfied with one more MAYBE two.

6E3M is plenty flexible for a brawling heavy.
9M will require some creativity, but offers plenty of hardpoints for both LRM/SRM.
6E2M Hero (or 4E3M... bleah) with ECM has a lot of potential.

9 SSRM-2s. You know you want to.

Oh yes. And I remember the discussions about it and its redundancy because of the catapult in game or bad hitboxes or just another heavy mech ;-). But I liked the Archer always and I am really excited about this mech :-).

Personally, it can't come any sooner. I'm a huge sucker for LRMs, and this is one of the few times IS SSRMs might actually be worth something due to the huge number of them you can mount. MAY YOUR MISSILES FLY WELL, BRETHREN!

I just hope all the purists, who decried anyone not running PPCs on a Warhammer, will retain the iconic pair of large LRM launchers on every Archer variant. To do otherwise would be very hypocritical of them.

I expect sales of AMS units to go through the roof in mid-late March!

I hope the NARC gets some C-Bill love now that LRMs is having a minor comeback. =)

Seriously, I think only Narc Bait and I run NARC regularly.

I would be happy if people did the sensible thing and turned their Archers into SRM boats.

But sadly it's going to devolve into LRM-mania worse than ever before... it will be dark times for MWO.

I am so looking forward to the Archer, though sadly most will use it with srms. Still enoug will use lrms that these boards will be filled with whining. That is what I really want.

Hell yes.

I love the Archer. Been waiting years for it!

No longer will I have to suffer the indignity of using the Catapult as a substitute and having torso lasers with missile arms!

9xM is gonna be brutal. Even 9xSSRM2 will absolutely demolish Lights with that rate of fire. 4xSRM4+5xSRM2 for brawling?

Jeebus.

I think all will depend on scale and hit-boxes.

LEFT ARM 2 Missile (Actuators: Upper, Lower, Hand)
LEFT TORSO 2 Missile
CENTER TORSO 1 Missile
RIGHT TORSO 2 Missile, 1 AMS
RIGHT ARM 2 Missile (Actuators: Upper, Lower, Hand)

So...double chainfired lrm5s, anyone?

If the Tempest can only be gotten with real world cash and it's the only one with ECM then MWO is sliding down the P2W slope. To be fair, in most other online games P2W happens much sooner.

It has, most likely the best Hero chassis in the game up till now, so yep. I always liked the Boar's Head and Coup de what ever also. Maybe I'm missing one, but a lot of the hero mechs are kind of ugly so far. How strong the Archer is? It will most likely be a challenge to do well and be down right tough until elite.

The correct answer is ALWAYS 4s unless quirks dictate otherwise. Tighter clusters, more focused, useful damage, more ammo efficient, better cooldown.

Lrm15s (I'm a Steiner, our Archers always have 15s) will indeed be present, with the possible exception of boating silly amounts of LRM5s on the W.

Is it the only available IS Heavy with ECM? Are there similar weight for free ECM mechs available? Answer: Yes. So P2W? Not even close.

To answer the OPs question.... YES

I settled on the Founder's cat way back in the day because that is as close as I could get... now the day of reckoning is nigh!

Two of mine will. The 9M... I dunno. Big racks are ridiculous there.

The hero is going to be prolly 3xsrm4 and 4 lasers, though.

Lrm15s, not 20s, because 20s are bad.

ECM isn't the iwin button it once was, AND this is not the only hero with ECM, AND there are other c-bill 70t ECM hero's

Legs to stand on: you have none.
